What's new

Jefferson or Millsap for 5th pick and Garcia?

That's why I think Marquis Teague is a sleeper in this draft. Expectations were sky high for him at the beginning of the year. He was next in the line of lottery PGs at Kentucky after Wall and Knight. He didn't meet expectations, was playing on a team loaded with talent at every position, and he kinda slid. He's still the same guy though and could still end up being the best PG in this year's draft.

Lillard is a good athlete who works hard and can really shoot the ball. It's hard to see how he busts.

Coming out of HS, there was a time DX had Teague going top5 in this draft. There was a time he was ranked by Rivals as the #1 player in his class. As I've said before, the only question mark for me is whether he is as cerebral as other elite guards. He is strong, quick, athletic (40.5"), and can get to the rim .. not a bad shot. He has the upside.

That was exactly what Wesley Johnson's bio was coming out of college when he was picked 4th I believe in front of Cousins and Monroe...

Whats up you big baby.

Cry me a river.

Hey moron, trading Dwill was the less risky move than to keep him. Pull your head out your ***, wipe your tears, and shut the ef up.
Getting told to grow up by the most immature poster here is just funny. It's you and posters like you that are making this site hard to take anymore. Good luck with your stupid hate.

BTW. Please list the GM's smart enough and aggressive enough to trade a superstar, before a trade demand and before the contract has been shown to be a problem. I don't think it has ever happened. If he's the 1st to do it. That would be the definition of aggressive. Just because it was the smart decision does not make it any less aggressive.

Your blinded by your hate and your arguements are pathetic. You may be the most immature and worthless poster I've ever read on this site. Troll on!

Way to show how mature you are by doing nothing but calling names by the way. Who is it that should grow up again? LOL.

No, you are the one full of hate. I just critisized a basketball GM. You flamed on me, so I did it back. Stop trying to turn it around on me. I am full of love and compassion. You hate anyone that doesnt agree with you.

You are the worst poster in the history of posters. Dont like it? Leave.

Ill say it again. Trading away a top piece in his prime is not an accomplishment. Especially when the name of the game is to collect those pieces. Again, he traded Dwill because he was worried he would walk. The name of the game isnt to start over in the middle of your run for a championship. He failed his last try. And now he is getting another try. Lets call it like it is. Management is giving him another try. They let him cash out and try again.

Stop drinking the koolaid fool.

So my statement stands. He is a overly conservative GM. Period. You cant argue with it. Its a fact.

I didn't flame you and didn't call you names, you did that. I just criticised a comment I found extremely naive. KOC has been extremely aggressive in the short time frame since Sloan has retired. Trading Deron was not Conservative.

I see that you did not come up with another GM that has done something similar.

He traded an elite player getting to enter his prime and got a great value for him. His last attempt to win it all failed but even the moves he made to start that run were not overly conservative. He traded up to get Deron. He signed 2 players who had a lot of tools but were not complete players for big money (Memo, Boozer).

So you claim that trading away a top piece in his prime was not risky(which seems like an ignorant and stupid statement to me) If it is not then other GM's must have tried it. Right? So show me some examples of this happening where the GM willingly traded a star without his hand being forced.

Given that Deron had tainted the locker room and the team, I don't think that trading him was overly aggressive. Who knows how hard he had to work to negotiate such a nice combination in return.

And the notion of trading for value, Carmelo-style, makes the trade more of intelligence than aggressiveness.

Exactly.

Billy King offered up the house because he is an idiot. That trade never should have happened. I wonder how everyone would have felt about everything if there wasnt dumb Bking out there.

Given the circumstances, making the trade was an easy decision.I dont hate the trade. I think he made the right move. I just dont like how he handled everything leading up to it. And I worry he is going to do the same thing here, and we will come up short again.

I dont hate KOC, I just think we could do better. And maybe it isnt all him. Maybe it is part ownership, but I choose to blame him.

Not if DWill decides to sign with NJ this summer.... They can offer him max. contract after all... it's not over yet.

Its Brooklyn, and my sources tell me he is staying. But that isnt the point. BKing is an idiot for giving up what he did. Favors alone may have been too much, given his immense potential. Plus he wasnt ready for a star to come in. He didnt have the pieces. Think how well off the Nets would be right now if they didnt make that trade and the G Wallace trade. .

I love Dwill but I would take Favors, Kanter,6 pick,gs pick, and Harris everyday of the week. Its a whole team.

What make you think Billy King is the one calling the shots over there in NJ/Brooklyn?

I agree with this. I think last season proved a lot. Before the DWill trade, NJ was basically a 6th pick, and this season they were a 6th pick. They didn't improve. On the other hand, look at what happened to NOH after CP3 left, and look at what happened to LAC once he got there. Granted there are certain things which make each example a bit more complicated than I'm making it sound, but I still think it proves a lot.

The only way he's not an idiot is if he get's another superstar to team with DWill. To come away with only DWill (and possibly G. Wallace) after what he's given up classifies him as an idiot.

In a nutshell this is what King has given up to get DWill + GWallace (and the thing is he may end up with only one of them, or possibly neither of them):

Favors
Harris
Kanter
Harrison Barnes or Andre Drummond
GS pick
$3MM

As Blues alluded to that's basically a starting team that could do reasonably well in the East and would have the potential to eventually get into the top 4.

I don't doubt that at all.

But to call Billy King an idiot just because he's executing Prokhorov's "We'll win an NBA title in 5 year" mantra is absurd.

The thing is that howard + dwill is still not that great a team. You can call me out if I'm wrong, but I don't see that team as a true title contender. They would get bent over by both Miami and OKC.

Yep and that doesn't even include the fact that Deron hasn't been the same since the wrist injury and Dwight has probably worked out too much and has hurt his back.

Agreed. Then you consider the fact that they will literally have nothing else, since they will presumably give up at least one future first, brook, marshon and have to take back Hedo.

I just don't think a lineup like:

Dwill
Morrow
Hedo
Humphries
Howard

Is a real competitor. Better than they are now, yes, but I see that as a treadmill team.
