Milos Teodosic interested in the Jazz

Wtf? Explain more for us slow folks.
Does that mean he has signed a contract with the jazz and will join the team in the fall of 2017?

Idk, it's some moderately popular foreign basketball facebook page. Could be bogus. Obv he cant sign a contract for next year in December of this year while he is playing overseas. It's just reporting that sources close to him say there is an agreement for him to come over next year.

It probably means he has some sort of 'understanding' with the Jazz which won't come into effect until July. That of course is if this whole thing has a shred of truth in it.

My expectation is that he's just trying to drive up the value of his new Euro contract. He will be free agent this coming summer.

Thanks for the good response.
Would you be excited to get him? Assuming we re-sign hill would what role do you think he would play and how many minutes would you guess?

Pure PG. INSANE passing skill. He is quite possibly the best passer in the world right now. Sieve on defense, though.

Yeah, it'd be a pretty interesting try. He would give us another dimension offensively that no one else on our roster can provide.

He's like a better version of Ricky Rubio on offense (and much worse defensively)

When you say that, it leaves out a huge fact that Milo is a great volume 3pt shooter.

Here's a video from a month ago, so you'd have better idea of what type of player he is:

Is superior marksmanship not covered under 'better version on offense'?

IDK, just the way I think of "better version" I think of a player who plays the same way, but just with improved efficiency. I dont even consider the 3pt shot being in Rubio's arsenal at all, so I dont consider anyone who shoots the 3 to really be a version of Rubio, but I get what you were going for in regards to comparing their passing creativity/vision.

Think of Jose Calderon's overall skillset. Teodosic is a little bit more cocky and assertive. Instead of Chris Paul's surgical decision making(Calderon) take Jason Kidd's flashy/risky passes.

Would make sense for the Jazz. With Rudy it's tempting to try how much Rudy can compensate. Teodosic would be the ultimate test. Worst case you let him play with your 2nd unit and rotate Rudy, Hood and Hill out early, let a Exum, Ingles/Burks, Hayward, Lyles + Favors lineup try to work some magic and then bring in a very versatile Teodosic, Exum, Hood, Lyles, Gobert look to completely annihilate 2nd units.

I think Ingles defensive development has Quin believing he can turn anyone into a shut down defender. The less they look like a good defender the better.

I don't think there is any truth to this at all. I don't think we can negotiate a contract for this summer and can't see a guy committing for a FA period six months ahead of time.

I think Tomic, Milos, and Tibor will form Jazz Europe and play over there.

He already said on record if he comes to the NBA it's to the Jazz or Spurs. It's not crazy to think this has truth to it.

This sounds like back up plan to not being able to resign Hill. Or they are trying to drive up his price early. I am guessing the spurs will be very interested in him this off-season and they might want to start driving his price up now.

You are right deals for free agency are always happening six months in advance before either side knows what they will need... which is what the link indicates. If it said there was serious interest from both sides then sure... terms of deal are done and he's coming in the fall... nah.

So It kind of is crazy to think there is truth to it. But I thought it was crazy to think trump could be president so who the hell knows.
