Nelson Mandela Dies

(opening a can of worms)

What differences and similarities do you all see between South African Apartheid and Modern day Israel/Palestine?

Hantlers..... Dude shut the F up!!!!!

I have been to South Africa 5 times my Wife is a Zulu(hence my Tag)!!! She grew up in the Apartheid Government and trust me the things you are saying aren't full facts just stats used to paint a pretty picture of a horrible thing....

Was South Africa safer under Apartheid rule?? Yes if you were White!!!

The Apartheid Government separated people by race( white, Black, Coloured(anyone of mix race) and Indian) trust me I have visited Black, Coloured and Indian townships, compared to White suburbs and there is no comparison.

Non-whites could only go to certain places and could only work certain jobs and were often limited on their education pass grade school...

When non-whites would organize to get equal rights.... White police would enter townships and violently disperse crowds... It was rocks and clubs vs guns and assault vehicles!!!

So the white police would enforce this so called safety you refer to!!

Is unemployment higher now once apartheid was stopped or since Mandela took office..., Yes but Why?

Non-whites were payed horrible under apartheid... It's really easy to have a great economy when 90%, yes 90% of your countries work force is being paid peanuts and the 10% minority lives on the luxuries off the riches mined by a near Slave labor!!

So once Mandela took office and started giving the non-white workers a decent wage it did create a large unemployment, but the Apartheid Government was operating under a false economic state! Just like the South with Slavery!!

Also the Apartheid Government and its founders were sympathetic to Nazi Germany....... So ya!!

Multiple reasons for why things got worse. What argument am I making? Frankly, I'm sick of people acting like Mandela was some saint. Did he do some good? Absolutely. Did he do some bad? Absolutely. It would be foolish to ignore both sides. I'm not saying that he didn't do some remarkable things, he absolutely did, but I would be foolish to not point out that he's done some terrible things as well.

I think the point others are trying to make is that things got better for black people after apartheid ended. They may have gotten worse for the white people, but a blanket "things got worse"statement does not address the wage differential or the living standard differential. While it may appear that things got worse, that might not actually be the case.

And what about all the unrecorded murders of black and otherwise not white people before the end of apartheid? How are we sure that murder rates have gone up?

Hahahahahahahahaha!!!

People trying to mudsling Mendela for "not being a saint" probably should read up on Abe Lincoln.

First of all, if you studied history you'd know that many saints were actually horrible people. I get it though, it's a figure of speech.
Secondly, Abe Lincoln, one of the most honest and best American leaders of all time, went through.... 5 generals (maybe 6, I can't remember). He completely trampled all over states' rights. He suspended habeus corpus. He bribed, bargained, and promised favors to gain support. He went through depression and anger fits. Not exactly saintly.

Lincoln wasn't a "saint." If you spent 5 mins on the Internet I'm sure you could find dirt on Gandhi and MLK.

Only 1 person was ever supposed to be perfect on this planet. Being a great leader, fighting for equality, fighting against racism doesn't mean you're a saint. No one celebrates these men for their "perfection." We celebrate them for their leadership, fight against racism and hatred, and belief in that "all men are created equal."

Things haven't gotten better for the whites since Mendela but they have for blacks?

Hmmmmm.... Maybe the whites or blacks should go back to where they came from...

Who was in South Africa first? Whites or blacks?

I'm not a fan of Lincoln either. Very overrated President. The ends don't justify the means. Same goes for Mandela. Yes, the end result of what happened for his country is probably a good thing, but murdering innocent civilians to get there? I cannot support that.

Should our flag be at half-mast for Mandela? Hell no.

I would consider an increase in unemployment and murder rate worse for everybody, not just whites.

Again, I think it says a lot about the people who are trying to make this about race, when it's never been about race.

Apartheid was about race. to say the the before and after effects of a racists system has nothing to do with race is just odd.

You and I both know that's not what Thriller's been talking about. And again, I never said that the apartheid ending was a bad thing. It absolutely needed to happen. All I'm saying is that things haven't been that rosy since it happened. It has nothing to do with me supposedly rooting for the white man. All I'm doing is showing facts, and pointing out that I don't think Mandela's methods for helping to end the apartheid were good.

To include posts where people say, "well maybe we should just go back to white people owning everybody herp derp" is insulting to everybody's intelligence. Be smarter.

/this isn't necessarily directed at you Gameface. Don't worry.

They worked and Mandela helped to avoid a civil war that most people thought was inevitable. Deserves some credit

Why don't we compare Mandela to Mugabe for a minute. Mandela had the kind of support that he could have remained in power until his death this week. He could have consolidated his power and been remembered as a monster. He chose not to.

The ends don't justify the means. I cannot support the bombing of innocent civilians.

Nelson Mandela was the head of UmKhonto we Sizwe, (MK), the terrorist wing of the ANC and South African Communist Party. At his trial, he had plead guilty to 156 acts of public violence including mobilizing terrorist bombing campaigns, which planted bombs in public places, including the Johannesburg railway station. Many innocent people, including women and children, were killed by Nelson Mandela’s MK terrorists.

Contrary to popular belief, the vast majority of blacks in South Africa aren’t natives, but came by the millions from neighboring countries only after the white Boers created a country with a thriving economy, education opportunities and medical benefits.

Under white rule, blacks in South Africa enjoyed better living conditions than any other African country, where blacks kill each other in tribal warfare.

Since Mandela took over, South Africa has become a Third World country. It went from being the safest country in Africa, to being the rape and murder capital of the world. In Johannesburg, 5,000 people are murdered every year. Unemployment went from 5% in 1994 to 50% today.

Now I'm not saying that white>black or black>white...all of that is garbage racist crap, I don't do that. All I'm saying is that Mandela isn't who most people think he is. I would not classify him as a good man.

Oh, and some nice quotes from Mr. Mandela.

"Long live the Cuban Revolution. Long live comrade Fidel Castro... Cuban internationalists have done so much for African independence, freedom, and justice. We admire the sacrifices of the Cuban people in maintaining their independence and sovereignty in the face of a vicious imperialist campaign designed to destroy the advances of the Cuban revolution. We too want to control our destiny... There can be no surrender. It is a case of freedom or death. The Cuban revolution has been a source of inspiration to all freedom-loving people."

"The Soviet Union is the torch-bearer for all our hopes and aspirations. We have learned and are continuing to learn resilience and bravery from the Soviet people, who are an example to us in our struggle for freedom, a model of loyalty to internationalist duty. In Soviet Russia, genuine power of the people has been transformed from dreams into reality. The land of the Soviets is the genuine friend and ally of all peoples fighting against the dark forces of world reaction."

other quotes from this page

was founded in 1961 by Mandela and his advisor, the Lithuanian-born communist Jew JoeSlovo,

n 1962, Mandela was arrested along with 19 others, half of whom were White communist Jews, in a police raid of ANC headquarters at a farm owned by Andrew Goldreich, also a communist Jew, at Rivonia, a Johannesburg suburb.

Your post sounded like it had a slight white supremacist bend to it because it did.

I can honestly state that I did not get those quotes from that page. Had no idea it came from that. Seriously.

Is Germany the Ultimate ‘Rogue Nation’?

• New book decisively counters the myth of “German villainy”

A TBR review of the new book The Myth of German Villainy

By Michael Collins Piper

Benton L. Bradberry’s The Myth of German Villainy is a book about which this reviewer can absolutely say, “I wish I’d written it myself.” The other thing that can be said with certainty about The Myth of German Villainy is this: Every American patriot needs to read this book, particularly those who have—quite unsurprisingly—bought into a lot of the nonsense about 20th century history pawned off by the controlled media and bought-and-paid-for historians shilling for the New World Order elite. Much of their nonsense has managed to find its way even into the “alternative” media (particularly on the Internet) today.
