What's new

October 20th - L.A. Clippers versus UTAH JAZZ (at 7:00 PM)

Also, Carroll doesn't get enough love. He looks a lot better offensively so far. Even if he is only a 10-15 minute backup, I think he is going to be awesome this year.

I watched Matt Barns run right by Millsap tonight for an easy layup in transition defense.
A little late with this, but it might be worthwhile to watch the replay of this play (it's in the NBA.com highlights for the game). Both Mo and Gordo were closer to the basket than Millsap. Millsap picked up Turiaf, likely assuming that one of Gordo/Mo would pick up Barnes (while the other picked up the ball handler). Unfortunately, Mo was late communicating to Gordon (who was closer to the ball handler), and neither picked up Barnes. You ended up with Barnes running past Millsap, Mo picking up Paul, and Gordo guarding no one. Not a play you can really pin on Millsap.

Dude plays hard. In the regular season, that advantage will be less pronounced, as starters will be playing harder, but there should be minutes for a dude who runs and defends as well as Carroll (he's also making some shots under duress late in the shot clock).

I agree with this. He'll get some minutes for hustle and production.

Here are my thoughts on the game.

Kanter is going to pass people off this year. He plays very physical and the guys that he guards or the ones that guard him are going to hate the physical play. Also, I really like that Kanter is starting tonpass the ball out of a double team already. I didn't see him really force anything.

Marvin Williams is going to have a great year and be an instant fan favorite. He took one bad shot but is was in the flow of the offense. Also, he plays above average defense. That has been needed on this team at the SF position.

Al Jefferson has been disappearing a lot on the preseason.

I love Hayward aggressive play. He is also really helping the Williams brothers run the offense. That will only help his confidence.

Burks is a stud. If he can start hitting the 3 at a decent rate then watch out. He will need 25+ minutes a night. Also, I am not in love with the PG idea for Burks but his decision making has improved. I would like to see him be the replacement PG if something happens to Mo.

I'm still undecided about Foye. Please see the comment above to catch how I really feel. (Hint, I don't want him taking minutes away from Burks. Burks is legit.)

I'm so excited for this team. We have so many weapons and shootings one of them!

I've only had one real disappointment this preseason and its been Favors. I really wanted to see some more improvements out of him.

Marvin is going to be huge for us. I think hes going to have a career year and be our best player on a lot of nights. His shot looks great, his defense looks good, and he seems like a good chemistry guy.

Kanter, Burks, and Carrol seem to have made a lot of improvements.

The only thing we don't have is a young point guard to develop. I pains me to say it but I think we need to trade Sap for picks, or a young pg.

Has someone posted the burks dunk yet?

What i dont like about our team is we have too many decent players (almost whole roster) but not one really good like we used to have d-will. We either need to create a superstar from our youngs, or get one, otherwise we cant be a contender.

Plus, although i like Marvin williams, i doubt he will continue his good play throughout the season consistently, in offseason noone really plays tough, we will see how much he can give in the real season.
