OKC @ SLC - Utah Jazz Game - 7:00 PM MST on FSOK, ROOT, ZONE

Players that has been coached by Sloan usually stay for a long time in Nba's orbit but they will never be key players of an Nba championship.

Because so many players Coach has worked with had the potential to be key players on a championship team. Damn that Sloan! Shandon Anderson could've been the next Jordan if it weren't for him.

Yep this is exactly the approach that amazes me. Apparently, there are many on this site who simply lost an appreciation for the game of basketball. Instead of a natural excitement after a great game which included a poster, a duel of two shooters and many other subplots those people are only capable to see it through the eyes of a cold-blooded bean counter: recalculate the winning percentage, the number of ping-pong balls in 6 months, how many minutes played player X and how many player Z... That what looks pathetic to me.

Sometimes I wonder why do these people watch any Jazz games this season: wouldn't it be better to wait 2-3 more years until the Jazz become contenders? Meanwhile all data that they need could be easily obtainable from the box scores. Seriously, what happened to the love of the game?

The truth is, I like most fans here in Utah am not even watching these games. Haven't seen one in weeks. And it shows in the arena. I haven't seen so many empty green seats in my life.

We talk about developing a "losing culture." The truth is, we are developing a "we don't give a damn" culture. It has been developing the second Sloan left and we traded Duron.

stars sell tickets. They get you into the playoffs. They win championships. The jazz have gone years without a star. They don't have anyone on their team who is that either. Sorry, but Hayward, favors, and Jameer Burke aren't stars.

As a result, fan interest has quickly gone out the window. Truthfully, more people are excited about the Utes than about the Jazz. Without a star player, the long-term health of this franchise is in trouble. Obtaining a star this summer should be priority #1. The best way to do it? Tank now, draft high later.

Solid, whether your on the tank bandwagon or not.

Agreed.

I can see the other sides points (non tankers) but I actually am having fun with the tank..... this season is awesome (other than marv and jeffy) and I like checking the scores of the other tankers to see if they won.

This year I get excited when we lose and upset when we win..... where most years its the opposite.

The important thing is that I still care deeply about each game and hate it when we have 3 days with no jazz..... I start jonesin for some jazz and get all excited for each game.

I just feel like we have a great opportunity to add the piece we need to get a championship!
Imagine a lineup of burke, hayward, jabari/wiggins, marvin, favors.
With burks, kanter, evans, gobert and some good free agent vets off the bench. (Maybe hienrich, landry, jarret jack, reddick, foye or guys like them)

How much fun would that team be to watch?

The key ingredient in that team is jabari/wiggins though and that ingredient is slipping away.

Because so many players Coach has worked with had the potential to be key players on a championship team. Damn that Sloan! Shandon Anderson could've been the next Jordan if it weren't for him.

How many players that have been coached by Sloan has won an Nba ring? If none, is just a coincidence?

How many top 10 draft picks has Sloan coached?

Huh, from past discussions I thought that you were of the opinion that where a team drafts is mostly unimportant.

Who would have thought that you are a closet tanker? ;-)

That says more about you than anything else.

Yeah, I'm loyal.

It's simple really. If you don't like it when Metallica change their sound, you stop buying their albums. You don't spend hours whining about it on the internet, pretending the band owe you something because you have a copy of the Black Album and a patch on an old denim jacket. Same thing here. The Jazz owe you sweet **** all. If you don't like that they're not doing exactly what you want, then don't follow the Jazz anymore.

I mean, it seems like it's the same people complaining about something every season. AK's overpaid, Giricek sucks, Boozer's faking injuries, Harpring is old and injured, why the hell did we trade Maynor, Sloan's not playing rookies, Sloan's not adjusting, Sloan's not calling timeouts, Corbin's not playing the kids, Corbin's not adjusting, Corbin's not calling timeouts, Corbin's not on board with the tank, Hayward's not on board with the tank....

I mean, if the Jazz are so frustrating, why the hell do you fools keep supporting them?

You should check out some other teams message boards.

Its sports bro..... most all sports fans bitch about thier teams.

I don't know....I ask you something else...why he has never won the coach of the year award?

Because an award that has been won by such currently unemployed luminaries as Sam Mitchell, Avery Johnson, and Byron Scott may not be the best gauge of success. Oh, and let's not forget Mike Brown. He must be a better coach than Jerry Sloan, too.

Outstanding performance by the Utah Jazz in defeating our Oklahoma City Thunder.

Give it up to Gordon Hayward (37 min.,) SG with an outstanding performance; he shot 13-16 FGM, 2-3 3PM-A, 9-13 at the charity line for 37 points. The Jazz shot 58% from the field.

Nice to see the Jazz getting back on track. Miss seeing a competitive Utah and the energy of your arena.

You have some outstanding pieces; these guys appear to be coming together. Really did a good job closing out against OKC tonight...

If we keep winning games maybe at end of the season you will add your friend Corbin in that list too...

Don't get me wrong, I respect Sloan! But granted that you say that he didn't coach enough top 10 draft picks, it means that his successes have often been miraculous, considering the poor material at his disposal....that's why it is surprising he never received the COY award.

It's ok to be loyal....but sometimes you have to be unbiased.

We are talking about a team that has almost never tanked! This year the tank is making a virtue out of necessity.

Supporting for 1 year a tank is synonym to not being loyal?

Thanks. The combination of the Thunder missing two of their three best players and Hayward going white mamba on your team = a loss for your team. Wish we had a guy like Durant though. Good luck with your team.
