What's new

Oui Oui Gobert!

He seems a lot quicker and more athletic than hibbert

This. If he gets deep position, he's going to be able to catch a lob and dunk, and there's not much anyone else can do about it. Now he needs to get stronger and heavier so he can get deep post position. He's a decent athlete for his size, no doubt.

Great, we drafted Wilt Chamberlain with the #27 pick. ;)

I Was Reading Yesterday's Paper While I Was Having My Coffee This Morning (Shhhh - Don't Tell My Fiancee) And It Seems Like Rudy Will Play This Season Over Here. Rudy Can Give Us Good Minutes If Kanter And Favors Get In Foul Trouble.

I haven't followed this thread at all. Reps for someone willing to summarize what this board deems his strengths and weaknesses.. floor and ceiling.

Boom or bust guy.

He should be able to contribute on defense right away (blocking shots, P/R defense), but he'll give up low post position to other centers. If he adds low post strength over the next few years, he could be really great on the defensive end.

Offensively, I'm not sure what his potential is. He seems to lack even a simple jump hook right now, but he can obviously finish very well on put backs, lobs, and in the P/R. Again, if he adds lower body strength that will allow him to establish low post position, then he might be able to score with ease even if he doesn't have a super polished game.

Potential is maybe along the lines of Hibbert? Floor is a 4th big you give 10-15 minutes for defensive purposes.

Yikes. No offense or defense.. but lots of potential...

we better bring in another big, then, imo...

Yeah, I don't think he's a guy you want playing 20 minutes right now. Give him the minutes Kanter got last year. I doubt he's ready for more than that. He'll block shots, defend the P/R, get offensive boards, catch lobs...stuff like that.

Exactly. Gobert will get some DNP's and play 10 mins. or less when he does see action. Definite project. I still see Lindsey trying to convince Millsap to return.

I hope Millsap is adamant about moving on. I want Favors and Kanter to get optimal progression time. I want the cap space to actually re sign them. I want a good pick in 2014. Millsap doesn't help accomplish any of those things.
