I mean, I don't think this will come close to some of the worst contracts in the league. Hayward will be a solid player for the length of his contract and has an outside shot a living up to it. I'm a fan, and when we match I'm gonna go and root for our team and hope Hayward starts putting up 25 7 and 7. Really, what else can you do? Made it clear that I would never match this deal, but I won't be bitter about it for the next four years.
I think Hayward is better (slightly) than Parson and he got similar money for a team that I consider extremely well run, if Houston matches Parsons, with Charlotte and Utah both offering Hayward max that's at least 4 teams who think these guys are worth what they are getting paid, and I'm sure there are others.
