Sources: Utah has expressed interest in re-acquring Deron Williams

Why? Why would you do a second round pick but not the 32nd pick? Makes no sense. None at all. Especially when the player you get with GS's won't be much better than an early second round pick and the GS pick is guaranteed and the second round pick is not guaranteed.

because we can control the first-round pick's future for longer. In short, it's a cheap long-term contract situation... which is good when you're at the stage of a build like the Utah Jazz.

True. BUT, if you add Lillard, Deron, etc, to Hayward and Gobert, you take yourself from a building team to a contending team. In that case, a late first round pick hurts your flexibility when you need it most (approaching the cap). The 33rd pick becomes much more valuable than the 32nd pick.

You are probably talking bout the 30th and 31st picks. There are 30 teams in the league.

Adding Deron doesn't do that. It just gives you a non-****ty option for backup PG. It's a minor improvement. Also, there is no "Lillard, Deron, etc". Those players are at completely different levels.

30 vs. 43 matters. I'd rather give a guy a guaranteed 4 year deal and have him be restricted than a 3 year non guaranteed deal. Can decline option after year two or three anyway.

You're off your rocker lol. You really think Deron is on Lillards level. LMAO.

The Jazz are 23-9 when Hill plays. So, yeah, when Hill is healthy, Deron is a minor improvement.

The Jazz are 12-13 when Hill doesn't play. So, if/when Hill is hurt again, Deron is a MASSIVE improvement.

I said this earlier:

The Jazz are 23-9 when Hill plays. They are 12-13 when Hill is hurt.

DWill solves that problem. What if DWill takes you from 23-9 when Hill plays to 25-7? What if DWill takes you from 12-13 when Hill doesn't play to 16-9?

All the sudden, you went from a 50 win team to a 58 win team.

PLUS, if Hill is too expensive, then you have a backup plan in DWill this summer, so you gain leverage in negotiations.

Finally, if you only have to give up a second round pick, or the GS 1st round pick...It's a real no brainer.

When did we get Lillard and D will... I'm confused

Eh. Both players are out of the league in three years. We are really splitting hairs at this point.

It boils down to this: To win a title, you need elite players. Lillard is a top 5, maybe top 3 player at his position. Gobert is a top 3 player at his position. Hayward is a top 10 player at his position.

You now have stars. Go get those freaking stars.

Not sure why we are interested in trading for Deron to be a backup, to make a minor improvement for a guy with a history of being a douche, chemistry and coach killer. And from watching Hayward and Williams play against each other tells me there might be a hint of animosity at least on Haywards part. Isn't this the guy we want to resign with the jazz?

Or they are rotation players or jimmy butler or Rudy Gobert I mean it does happen.

I am only talking about the deron trade though. We ain't getting Lillard.

It does happen, most definitely. I'd take the proven commodity over the minuscule chance I can get a bench guy though.

This is an unusually deep draft full of talent. I've heard experts say this draft goes 60 deep in this draft. I think there will be more then a few good picks later in this draft.

I've heard people say that type of things about drafts in general. And I've heard the opposite at times (that a particular draft is really shallow). But when you look back five years later, I've noticed that there is very little correlation with claims like that and what the draft actually turns out to be.
