Maybe 3 people did. I (along with others) said good things about him, just like we voiced our agreement in wanting Harkless (who hasn't looked like much).
I didn't like the pick, and the early results are suspicious. But he is young, and a Jazzman so I want him to succede.
The team shot 38% for the night including Hood's 4-14. Booker, Ingles, and Burke were 3-13. Bosh was 5-9 with 10 pts. while Lyles was on the floor. I'm not sure that's destroying him, but whatever. Lyles contributed to the loss but he didn't single handedly lose the game for us.Yes he did, this was a close game. All the other games he played spot minutes and it's effects were minimal. But last night he got some real burn and Bosh just destroyed him.
Quin has to stop playing him as a center if he is interested in winning games.

But Hayward, the team stud, not being able to hit a 4th quarter free throw didn't kill us?
Okay.
Lyles is a rookie. Not a very good one right now. To put this game on him while Hayward missed gimmes is just full-out Jazzfanz stupid.
Temper expectations, morans.
Trey is really good at putting the ball to the floor and driving and passing. He just has that knack for running and dribbling, then throwing the ball somewhere, not many players have that knack. That knick knack patty wack, give a dog a bone.Shouldn't he be a little better than he is? I know he's a rookie, but what does he even do?
Everyone misses FTs. Why is that relevant?
Pose your question in a well thought out, less arrogant way and I'll respond.
You're not really worth the time tho.
Found this article, good reminder.
Lindsey after the draft of Trey Lyles:
As they have upgraded equipment around the arena and practice facility, the Jazz are now testing proprioception ("just a fancy word for balance," Lindsey said). Of the 101 prospects who worked out for the Jazz this some, none tested better than Lyles.
Lindsey said, "We had multiple teams that were presenting us multiple firsts to move into 12. What it did was it validated the value that we felt was there."
The team is in trouble if that's what they are basing their decisions off of. That should be pretty far down the list of things you want in a player. You would think Devin Booker's shooting skill we old trump Trey Lyles balance skill.
Relax, it is a rebuild and the Jazz are not skipping any steps.![]()
Kid needs a year or two with the strength program. He'll be fine.
