Sorry to hear bud. I hope you get to feeling better soon.Pray for @Wes Mantooth
At the hospital with the most excruciating pain in my life. Back pain. Got a 60mg shot of Turadol this am. It’s worse since then.
OKC is building around dort. Why would they trade him for yet another draft pick?Pairing him with Rudy on defense seems unfair. He’s just one of those guys that has the ability to stick to his guy and just can’t be screened. I don’t know if the offense ever totally clicks for him but he’s a willing shooter and I think he’s got some potential to improve on that side of the ball. I don’t think they honestly would trade him but I think they should consider it... they’ve done great collecting picks but need the blue chip guys that come from tanking... or they need enough trade chips to force their way into the top three picks.
I gave my reasons... you are right though... he’s much more of a building block than I anticipated. They won’t do the deal I proposed.OKC is building around dort. Why would they trade him for yet another draft pick?
Don't get me wrong, I would love Dort in Utah alongside Don and Rudy. But... good friggin luck. I have been touting Nance years. OPJ or Darius Miles or Gay or Gordon would all be nice pickups if we can swing it.I gave my reasons... you are right though... he’s much more of a building block than I anticipated. Yeah I was trying to find a young, cheap, productive player that might be had for a future first that would be a lotto scratcher. The idea is that they don’t get to realize the full value of Dort being cheap and good because they are still in tank mode... he will be expensive when they start trying to make the playoffs again. I think Williams and Roby can definitely be had in a deal like that but they are obviously much less sexy.Don't get me wrong, I would love Dort in Utah alongside Don and Rudy. Ntilikina would be a good signing for a few reasons. Not much to lose giving him a shot if he comes cheap. Don could kickstart his career.Guys we could likely sign relatively cheap who still have value:
-Snell
-JaMychal Green
-Bjelica
Bargain Bin:
-Giles
-Dunn
-Ntlikina
Never heard of Quincy Acy, but I'm going to go ahead and say that this guy can't make it. The only reason being that he's from Baylor, and DL would have homered this guy talent or not. His stats don't look bad, but I would have no idea what to make of DL not giving it a go.Listened to Gordon Chiesa's segment on 1280 from yesterday. They asked him what the Jazz need to be looking for this offseason and it's the exact same player archetype's we lowly forum mouthbreathers have been saying for years. Long, athletic though guys who can defend or guys who can go get you a bucket. Brought up the likes of Torrey Craig, Cam Payne & Crowder and said those are the types of players you need on your roster.
He also mentioned Quincy Acy as a big tough defender who's been on some horrid teams so he gets looked over a lot of the time.
I wouldn't mind him playing pure point. I also would like to see Giles at PF as he plays defense and can shoot. Either would be cheap. I'm being realistic as I want some potential talent we can fill out the roster with who can likely contribute. I also really, really like Green but he wouldn't be as cheap though I don't see him getting a crazy contract either.Ntilikina would be a good signing for a few reasons. than Quin will just sit in favor of his pets Niang and O'neale.t or some other intriguing young athletic, versatile player.
Yeah, I think Quin is too rigid for this and if you’re wanting him to play a different rotation, you’re going to have to take options away from him.than Quin will just sit in favor of his pets Niang and O'neale.
This a Emmanuel M situation againNtilikina would be a good signing for a few reasons. Not much to lose giving him a shot if he comes cheap. Don could kickstart his career.
