What's The Last Movie You’ve Seen?

I watched Kubo and the Two Strings. It was a good movie and I enjoyed it.

There were a few spots where the script got a bit too cliche, the humor a bit too stupid, and the story a bit too uninspiring (even nonsensical), but overall it was really good. Some parts of the movie were exceptional in concept and originality, which is both rare and refreshing. I'd probably give it a four out of five. I could see some people really hating it tho, as many aspects of the story could turn a lot of people off and cause them to overlook anything that the film did well.

Ive only seen rave reviews for it.

Not surprised. It's a really good movie. It's a 4 out of 5 from me (don't do any half-stars or anything, and five stars has gotta be on par with some Akira Kurosawa **** or smth like that). The flaws are pretty small and may be less important to other reviewers than they are to me.

Got convinced to see Secret Life of Pets tonight.

Terrible, boring movie. Worst cartoon movie I have seen in forever

I watched movies all day. "The 33" and "Spotlight" were my favorites. Can't believe it has been 6 years since the Chilean miners were rescued, and can't believe Catholic priests got away with molesting children for so long.

I watched Spotlight a couple of weeks ago... felt more to me like a documentary than a movie... very informative though.

I also watched Batman v Superman a few days ago. Not like anything I typically watch, and it was by far the worst movie I've seen in a long time (as I expected it to be), but I feel there's something to be said for sitting down in front of a screen and not having to think about anything for 2 1/2 hours, except for maybe, 'Goddamn, this movie is ****ty'

Just a truly awful movie imo

And yet I still plan to see it, if only so I can join conversations about how bad it is.

Suicide Squad is a big ****ing waste of potential. It's beyond me how they could make a movie with such a cool premise.

Liked what I saw of Joker. Leto is a brilliant actor.

And Margot Robbie ofc.

I think you are in the business, but even from a viewer stand point who is a comics fan of a few characters as a kid, I really find the superhero movies lacking the soul of the characters. I always sleep during movies in the second half. Is there a reason they do not put someone who knows the background of the hero better in charge of the script?

My biggest problem was that were about eight million unbaked storylines throughout the movie. Even the storyline the movie was named for - Batman vs Superman - sucked terribly. The only storyline that actually made any sense whatsoever, and had a fairly clear beginning, conflict, and resolution, was that Lex Luther's son was a bad guy and Batman and Superman helped thwart his evil plan. Oh yeah, almost forgot that Wonder Woman helped too. The movie honestly would have been much better being an hour and a half long or so, and making a very basic story about Lex Luther's son being a bad guy and Batman and Superman helping save the day. Otherwise, it would have been okay being as long as it was if any of the other story and **** they threw in made any sense, but it was just a bunch of lame undeveloped ideas that made the movie lack any cohesion and emotional intensity whatsoever.

Idk what they were trying to do with the score, but the Hans Zimmer/Asian fusion thing wasn't really my style and didn't seem to fit that well at points. Fusing it with a Korean and Chinese style doesn't really do much for me when the movie has nothing to do with those places at all. Some of the movie takes place in the Middle East iirc, so fusing that style would have made more sense imo. I'm all for being different and original, and introducing somethings that may be under appreciated, but I didn't care for that. It made me feel like I was watching a Korean or Chinese movie at times.

Are you guys honestly surprised? Zach Snyder absolutely blows.

I wasn't surprised at all. I went into it knowing I would hate it and that it was a bad movie. As far as Zach Snyder goes... I'm not even very sure of who he is or what movies he's done.. appparently not many films I've seen. He did Watchmen maybe? Idk.

Straight Outta Compton.

Really, really good freakin' movie. After all the chatter about blacks not being nominated last year for any Oscars, I was annoyed because I had seen Creed which was frankly speaking, just okay. Cheese for the most part. MBJ can act but he wasn't special in it and the movie as a whole was not even close to Oscar-worthy imo. But SOC was very, very good in every freakin' way. I highly recommend it.
