Donovan Mitchell Highlight Videos, Spectacular Plays

If Mitchell continues to ball out and he keeps that energetic charisma that he has, Stockton might have competition as my all time favorite player.

How soon do you all think it will be before players want to come play with Gobert and Mitchell?

I don’t know but could Malone come out of retirement as our shooting, playmaking 4 (and to go for the scoring title) and pair Stockton in the backcourt to spread the floor?

It is crazy how perfect Donovan Mitchell was to heal the wounds of the offseason. Grateful to have him, and if he keeps on his trajectory, he’ll probably be my favorite Jazz player ever, but we’ve got a long way to go.

Do u think Mitchell will reach Stockton's level of play? That's a tall order. As far as pg play in the NBA goes, no one did it better... EVER.

I think Mitchell will be the better scorer and is more athletic. But he will never rival Stockton's passing, steals and vision. Defense? Maybe. how was Stockton as a rebounder? I don't remember. Will Mitchell be a better player? Maybe, I guess but I doubt it. But my post was simply about who I would like more.

In the debate over the best PG of all time there are really 4 tiers...and the first tier is exactly 2 names, although the order varies depending on who is talking: Magic Johnson and John Stockton. Tier 2 you get into guys like Isaiah Thomas (the first one), Steve Nash, Oscar Robertson, Jason Kidd, Steph Curry, could argue that Westbrook belongs here too after his last season and a half, etc. Tier 3 are the solid guys you would want to build around but not necessarily among the best of the best ever, like Chauncy Billups, Cousy, Frazier, Dennis Johnson, etc. You could further stratify this on down, but from here down the arguments get wide and varied, but the top 10 generally are set. If "all" we get out of Mitchell is a top 20 PG, even if he falls in the subjective 15-20 range, then holy hell what a steal. I think he has a chance to climb into the rarified air, but only time will tell.

Right now to me his ceiling is probably Westbrook-ish, seems to have a similar game and I think he will be one of these guys that can average 20+ PPG, 5+ RPG and APG, 2 steals or similar. His floor, barring his rookie year being just a flash in the pan or injuries, is probably on the order of Wall or Arenas or Kevin Johnson. Not that I think his game is like any of theirs particularly but rather just his overall level of talent and ability would fall in that range on the low end.

Some days he reminds me of DWade. . . other days he reminds me of Lillard. . . and other days he reminds me of Chris Paul. His combination of playmaking, shooting, passing and defense has the potential to be special. Kid is strait up amazing.

Lol. Mitchell is not a better scorer. It's just that Stocktons PG skills were so advanced that he didn't need to score. He could dominate and control a game just through his passing and intelligence with out taking a shot. He was unselfish to a fault, but when the jazz needed him to score or in a scoring drought Stockton could fill it up with the best of them. Let's also not forget how clutch Stockton was
