What's new

The great and dreadful day of the Donovan is at hand: Jazz @ Thunder 4/18/2018 6:00 pm MST

Mitchell has 55 points his first 2 playoff games. That's a record for guards, he just took over the spot from Michael Jordan. So that's kind neat.

And the philly tards on Twitter are like but he shoots so much... gtfo. MJ did it against Craig Elo DM did it against PG and company.

Early in the year when the jazz were sucking and tanking talk was running amok we played a bottom feeder (I wanna say the kings) and I posted in the gamethread that I would join the tank if the jazz lost. They won.
I thought Rubio was the worst player ever and would have traded him for trash.
I didn’t believe jingles was worth his contract.
I thought favors should probably be traded (though I liked him, just thought he was a bad fit)
I thought Mitchell was really good but not nearly this good.
There was a gobert must go thread.
Our role players seemed to leave something to be desired.

I learned my lesson quickly. Don’t doubt these guys. There is something special happening. I don’t think they have a chance to win the title this year (hope that comes back to bite me) but they are close. No doubt in my mind.

It all rides on Mitchell and really how could you doubt Him?

No don't doubt them. They are mostly special individuals who have been through a lot together. Quin's belief in Ricky as a shooter has been monumental for the chemistry of the group. He has become the unsung hero of the team and when he was getting hip checked into the front row on a nightly basis, the team rallied to his side. They came together then as brothers and they rode it to make their playoff run.

Then there was Mitchell cooling Quin down and escorting him to the tunnel after he got ejected.

Those happened outside of the game, and we're seeing the results. They believe in each other, not just as players, but as teammates.

I don't care if Gail has to hock her wedding ring, the Jazz need to find the money to re-sign Favors.
Since they no longer have to worry about Hood, they have plenty of money to re-sign Derrick and still be under the tax. The problem has always been his fit with Rudy. Jazz need another shooter for the times when the other 3 on the floor go cold and the offense stagnates.

But it may all be a moot point. Favors will be unrestricted. With him selling the house and his family moving back to GA, perhaps he's already signaled his intent to leave. After all, the Jazz have tried to trade him pretty much every season.

"Tonight was just one of those nights where you saw how connected we are." DM

Believe it. Because they are connected. Like brothers. How they carried themselves in Rubios' defense proved that. That was outside of the game, then they made their historical run to the playoffs together and were rewarded.

Do not sleep on this band of players.

I think Exum has a little dog in him, he’s playing really hard these two games. His defense has been aggressive as hell and he blew by Paul George when he got too close (missed though) really nice to see.
