Reverse Pet Peeves

Living in an LDS community. Today, 4 y.o. ISIS figured out how to disconnect our makeshift garage door opener blocker and snuck out in only his pajama bottoms. No shirt or shoes. Neighborhood came together and found him 45 minutes later at the park.

And my co-workers give me crap for living in LDS dominated Utah County. This is the first time it's happened with my kid, but the last one had probably 200 people looking and people on their roofs with binoculars. I bet we had at least 200 looking today. My wife was even notified while looking for him that there is a lost kid.
Glad you found him and everything was ok.

Are you mentally handicapped Mike? From all accounts I've heard about you from others, and in person, is that you're dumber than an arrogant sparrow.

Are you really going to give me **** for my kid sneaking out when I was at work 2 hours away . I didnt say anything but praise how you handled your ordeal or others. So heepeecaca shut the **** up.

I thought the wink and the hehepeepeecaca would make it come across as a joke, silly guy.

I like you, dude. And, and, I'm still one step ahead of you.

That's all true, but dude realize when something sensitive needs to remain sensitive. You have a son. Imagine losing him and me telling you that you are a bad parent heepeecaca. It's not funny. At all.

I was just about to send you another PM saying now that I think about it, any joke towards my kid on here, I'd read as **** off and be defensive af about it. I read you wrong, dude. You are super honest and transparent on here and I was just trying to bring levity to something serious, while honestly giving you the benefit of the doubt and making a distraction from how serious the issue was while not actually thinking about what you went through. It was very shortsighted of me. I apologize. I do not translate well on Jazzfanz and gets me in trouble a lot. Troutbum may or may not have influenced me. Dude is edgy af on Jazzfanz, but is the most sincere, honest, responsible, and best father I know. 100%
My little sister went missing a few years back and was on an episode of Last Seen Alive, in which, the PI from the show eventually found her. It made my mom go through hell and broke her. Like literally, I lost my mom from it.

It's weird why people joke, you know?

Frankie Boyle's Prometheus Vol 1, its available on youtube, can't post a link cause it violates almost all of the forums rules for content and language but do yourself a favour, I haven't laughed that hard in ages.

I’m afraid my daughter is gonna unlock the deadbolt (it’s not high) and just walk out the front door some day soon.

She’s 3.

We have sliding bolt locks up high on the doors. It didn't take ISIS long to figure out how to slide a chair over to unlock it, but they worked well with my other 2. They're a few bucks and installation is easy. There are plate ones that are harder for kids to figure out for the same price and install time.

This little **** though, we put in vinyl hoping the backyard would be good and safe but he climbed over it in 15 minutes and figured the gate locks out.

My front and back door are way hard to open when unlocked even so im lucky that i have no worries about this. We keep the dead bolt locked but even if she unlocks that there is no way she is strong enough to pull the door open. One bright spot about having a ****** uneven foundation.

Sounds like a good idea. Like getting a door with a deadbolt and other lock like when we originally purchased it. But why have two locks when you can have one. At least, that’s my brilliant wife’s thinking on the matter.

I did stuff like that to my parents.

Thanks to all the dedicated teachers out there. It amazes me that people in their mid-30's with tons of kids can find the time to rehearse something like this and then perform it. The song was from a Broadway show called Wicked, and gives the message I am who I am because of you.

Simply amazing that after nearly 20 years of being apart they can still come together for this. It was amazing. Not Tabernacle Choir amazing, but reunion amazing.
