What's new

America is great and everything is NOT Pres. Trump's fault thread

There is so much right with this post. I know people around here despise Dutch, and I agree he can be a lot to handle at times, but if there are people who disagree with what he said here I'd really love to hear their reasoning.
their reasoning #REEEESIST #OrangemanBAD.

because they lose on the arguments and policy.

the aclu used to defend a neo national socialist his free speech!

when govenrments get to decide what hate speech is. people like chavez, mao, stalin, castro, obama and hitler get to decide what you say and start bunring books. if that doesnt scare the leftist imagine if there come hate speech laws. then trump gets to decide what hate speech is you want that?

#orangemanbad

That's the definition of maintaining a functioning society.

there is no reasoning with someone stupid enough to think the pitsburg attack is trumps fault. because that means you are to stupid to comprehend simple things.

or if you know it is not his fault there is no reasoning with an evil morally bankrupt person like yourself that uses the death bodies of my people to grandstand on their rgaves.

but hitler used exactly that argument. maintaining a functioning society!
so there you have it

So there you have it. The very first quote by the OP and the second even, trying to kick off a positive look at the US. And what is the immediate response? Blowme. Nice. So where did defense of Trump come in? When it was the only thing being thrown around. One person, Ron, did make an attempt to stick with the premise, but everyone else just **** all over it.

I made an attempt to stick with the premise (I don't think I have posted anything anti-Trump in this thread).

Edit: Sorry, I have to correct myself. I did say that I disliked Executive Order 13768, but I did so in the mildest manner I could imagine.

there is no reasoning with someone stupid enough to think the pitsburg attack is trumps fault. because that means you are to stupid to comprehend simple things.

Do you understand a difference between "It's your fault" and "You are contributing to it"?

but hitler used exactly that argument. maintaining a functioning society!

So, taxing people to pay for public education is being just like Hitler? What's your point?

I am not disputing that, not sure who is. I agree with you. I think Trump is a cancer. But I think there are a lot of threads to talk about Trump and his failure. I haven't taken anything in this thread to be full-on Trump apologetics, other than the responses from the conservatives to the criticisms of the liberals. I thought this thread was supposed to be talking about everything going right in the country. We need some positivity in this climate. Some light in the expanding darkness, if you will.

Until this country comes together in disgust of Trump there is nothing good to talk about. I know that's not really true but the tarnishment of what it means to be an American is so severe it's pretty much as simple as that. It's like Germans talking about what's good about their country while slaughtering jews... again, an over simplification. But the vile views and actions of our President while half the population supports him is by far the greatest travesty in the 224 years of our democratic republic. You want me to talk about how nice the barn wood is while the barn burns? So, yeah, sorry but I'm going to **** all over this thread, especially when the OP's first retort was a propaganda article by a Drumpf advisor.

True, but you also don't get a free pass from legal, private repercussions to your speech.

There are three choices:
1) If you don't contribute to healthcare insurance, and you get sick beyond your immediate means to pay, you die.
2) If you don't contribute to healthcare insurance, and you get sick beyond your immediate means to pay, you get treatment anyhow, and everyone else winds up paying for your healthcare.
3) You contribute to healthcare insurance.

I choose 3) as the least terrible. What's your choice?

Yes, we do, as long as it is an accurate education. Everyone benefits from a robust public education system, so everyone contributes. Creationist don't get a veto on the biology curricula. Holocaust deniers don't get a veto on history curricula.

That's the definition of maintaining a functioning society.
Thanks, but you didn't respond at all to the portion of the post that I was thinking about when I wrote my response. His opinions on hate speech were very interesting and eye-opening for me. (I know, I should have been clearer.) Do you agree or disagree with what he said about that part?

They have been since tariffs have been implemented. However, I don't think I can credit Trump with attempting to lowering tariffs that he unilaterally raised.
I think you might not be aware that China had big tariffs on American goods before Trump put tariffs on Chinese goods. Many people don't seem to understand that key element in all of this. Trump has said all along that he would prefer no tariffs.

The truly sick part is that you believe 2018 America is equivalent to a Nazi regime. That shows how successful the media brainwash operation has been on some people.

The only beef I have with this is that he puts this on Democrats. Who has said that Trump can't say what he says? No one is calling for him to be benched, or jailed, or that he CAN'T say what he is saying. (Yet that is exactly what Trump says about NFL protesters.)

His right to hype the caravan, doesn't mean I have to agree with him, or not draw the conclusion that Bowers acted on the hype. Bowers is responsible for his actions and not Trump, but to disregard the potential that there are other nut jobs out there ready to heed the call to action is on the President. The risk of inciting hate is that you can't control where it will strike. If you are okay with Trump being able to say whatever he wants, then don't complain about those who kneel during the anthem in protest, or get in the face of Sarah Sanders, or BLM complaining about terrible, horrible, no good very bad policing.

Media brainwash? You're an idiot. People with half a brain go 100% off what comes out of Trump's mouth, and the mouths of the feeble, bigoted, amoral sycophants he has dredged up from the swamp.

Hitler gained power in 1933. He didn't start slaughtering jews until around 1941. People did not support Hitler at first but they began to as he whipped them into a fervor... just like Trump is doing to his base. We are only two years into Trump. Not saying Trump is Hitler, but not saying he isn't.

The option you have then is to either hijack the thread and essentially troll everyone because you choose to wallow in your extreme righteous anger, or you can choose to ignore the thread. It is up to you. But by choosing to "**** on this thread", all you do is add fuel to the fire that the right keeps fanning of the left suppressing thought. Agree with me or I will **** all over you. Great stance. Very unifying.

Something I am grateful for is a robust economy. The last time I endured a layoff was in 2008-2009, when the economy was in the *****er. I was unemployed for almost 2 years, and then it set my career back easily 6-8 years. This time I find that the unemployment in California is so low that applicants are highly in demand. I started a new job today, a minor bump over my previous position, and I still expect 2 more offers this week, so I may be changing again. The offers are very solid in terms of salary, bonus, and equity. That is such a relief for me and my family, and it is a direct result of a robust economy. I am happy for that for sure.

as i stated in another thread. USA cant sell their goods in aother countries. i gave some examples of the cheverlot camaro which cost 25000 US$ in the us and 60.000 euros in Netherlands. and in china same thing etc. but they dont seem to care or get that

your ignorance on National SOCIALISM is astonishing!

i know you do not believe in freedom of speech and would like to hold book burning. but before you decide to burn Hitlers book mein kampf. please read it.
you might learn a lot from that book, and might see the warning signs of REAL NAZISM which has now morphed into Global SOCIALISM.

you might realize that nationalism has become globalism, and the evil jews are now the evil white men! but other than that it is still Nazism on a global level! want some proof. look at don lemons RACIST comment!

edit/disclaimer: I am not saying we should agree with hitlers view anyone is free to as long as he does not harm another. but it is important to understand his views, that is why i suggest reading his book. to get national socialism directly from the national socialist horse his mouth! understand why he did it. and recognize when it rears its ugly head in other forms.

Yes. This is a good time to be a job hunter.

If anyone out there isn't really happy with their current job, I highly encourage you to just take a chance and apply at places even if you don't think you have a chance to get that job.

I'd love to talk about unity. We can do that when people put the good of our country ahead of their pay raise. If you'd like to cheerlead your circumstance while the American institution burns that's up to you. And guess what, if you did it without posting a bunch of propaganda written by Trump advisors I probably wouldn't **** on your thread.

But your thought of "the left" "suppressing thought" lets us know where you stand. You can call it "wallowing in your extreme righteous anger", but I'm not angry bro, I'm slack jawed. We have a template of dictatorial rise and the dangers of a madman and his adoring populace in our very recent past... again, Hitler's Germany. Every single parallel is there right in front of our eyes.

But let's talk about your job, LogGrad. You gonna buy a new truck? Maybe take a vacation?

You are 100% correct on the NFL protesters.

I disagree with your comment about Sanders. Getting in someone's face is where it crosses the line. It is not okay to drive people out of restaurants, etc. It is not okay to tell your followers to do those kinds of things. I have heard Maxine Waters tell her constituents to misbehave. I haven't heard Trump to tell his to do the same, but I agree with your implication that he ought to make it clear to his followers that bad behavior will not be tolerated. He definitely doesn't do a good enough job of this. The guy seems to be fueled by conflict, and that's a very bad thing.

I can't even decode your stuff about the BLM.
