The perfect PG candidate for this current roster has always been Dejounte. Let us see how their PG duo situation pan out in Atlanta. I know they just extended Murray but players are made available for trade after extension all the time so...
Yes, Dejounte is another one we would like to have.

Am I the only one that thinks that Brogdon is a better fit for our roster than Holliday? Sexton and the worst or our 2025 picks for Brogdon. I'd do that trade in a heartbeat!

Brogdon's best position on a good team is as a 6th man type. We already have plenty of that on our team. No way would I give up a first for him.

Brogdon is another combo guard. He's also Clarksons age, made of glass and been a malcontent on his last 3 teams. I'm all for consolidating assets but Brogdon isn't that guy.

So Windy just said we were sniffing around the Jrue Holiday trade… said in a year from now Jrue (or a star like Jrue) ends up with a team like Utah because of the restrictions in trades on second apron teams. The rules allow teams to aggregate salary this year but not next year. So it was about the new rule and not that we will trade for Jrue next year.

I'll give our front office the benefit of the doubt and assume Jrue wasn't interested in playing here and that's why we didn't make a deal happen.

I'm happy we at least explored it seriously.

I agree with both parts of this. Likely knew the extension wasn’t a sure thing at all… at some point it’s worth it to call the players bluff and just make the trade. We aren’t quite there yet.

There is a reason why he is not in Indiana anymore and Boston didn't view him as a starting point guard for their roster.
I’d be okay with getting him if he was close to free… I do think he’s likely a bit prickly and his medical are a red flagged all to hell right now until he shows the elbow is okay.

Brogdon would immediately be our 2nd best player and BY FAR our best playmaker.
I think he's a good player. I worry about the locker room stuff and the fact he might be broken. He's a lot more "point guardy" than our other guards.

It needs to be basically like Sexton and THT or something like that... and even then not sure I'm giving up on Sexton for him. I doubt we are in on those convos. Think we rolling as-is.

Zach Lowe says we were in on Jrue... and he likes that we were in for the reasons we had stated. Good player, we have tons of picks, and he clear up a lot of our backcourt structure/stuff. Said we may not have been on Jrue's final list.

I think 2025 or 2027 Cavs/Minny pick, 2027 Lakers pick and Ochai (sexton, THT for salary and spun off) is right in the ball park of what they got... not sure we went that far without Jrue giving the thumbs up.
