That is not correct. Sexton is expiring, just like Simons who also makes $9 million more. They don't want salary on the books that far out. Is that correct? Who knows.
They clearly want the young guards to play. Getting Jrue doesn’t help that goal. Why didn’t we just send Sexton and two or three 2nds to the Celtics for Jrue?
Buy him out. Solved.I think trading the pick was unfortunate, but this is more of a trade to create playing time for the young guards. They have to know what they have. Losing a good 2nd round pick sucks, but we have enough 1st round picks that it somewhat neuters the effect.
It’s been confirmed it’s 2030.2031.
We also own the Clippers 2030 2nd outright per the Eubanks deal IIRC.
Nurkic is a vet center who does not need a lot of minutesBuy him out. Solved.
Still need front court depth.Buy him out. Solved.
Trade Jrue. But yeah, then they have to do more work. They clearly want the young guards to play. Getting Jrue doesn’t help that goal.
If they don't want sexton on the roster, because he's going to take touches away from young guys, and also decided they still need the money to be expiring I really don't think it's that insane. That is not correct. Sexton is expiring, just like Simons who also makes $9 million more.
In essence they are telling us they value Nurkic at 19M more than a second round pick and whatever savings we could have had if we buy out Sexton.Buy him out. Solved.
Sending a 2nd to somehow save face for the ‘we’re not [tanking]’ lark is weakness.
I’m addressing the inanity of sending a 2nd rounder. We didn’t have to. And we wouldn’t have to give Nurkic - who I could not possibly be less interested in having by around or watching - minutes either.Nurkic is a vet center who does not need a lot of minutes
This is goodUh I wanted to move the vets, but not for more vets. This is so ****ing bad
Just. Buy. Him. Out.If they don't want sexton on the roster, because he's going to take touches away from young guys, and also decided they still need the money to be expiring I really don't think it's that insane.
Very reminiscent of bogey for ko.
At least they didn't have to trade two SRP's and take on a long term contract like the Blazers did to move Simons?
