Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (democratic socialist) wins NY primary

Nothing about Democratic Socialism is abolishing capitalism. Its about weakening corporatism.

Exactly. You’d think more Trumpers would be on board with this. I think most Americans are tired of corporationism. But Fox News largely hijacks anti-corporate rhetoric to promote the pro-corporate agenda. Stick it to the elites! By passing tax cuts for them!

Good. Better yet, don’t even come in. I can’t remember the last time you posted anything remotely constructive or informative. Just blind hate and vitriol. You set up strawmen and ignore key facts. And then you get all huffy and puffy when people call you out on your ignorance. If you want to discuss politics then discuss them.

It’s annoying as hell to shift through your vomiting all over threads.

If it’s political, just stay out. You’re doing this wrong if you feel like fighting someone after one of these threads.

Blocking you because you are the biggest hypocrite on the board and you actively make Jazzfanz worse. Nothing but hate.

I asked you nicely and will now tell you. Don’t talk to me again, ever.

Good thing I never said that or even hinted it.

But, wheeee!!

That’s what happens when you don’t call out a false equivalency as you see it— try to word your posts a bit better.

Your sentiments boil down to “what we currently have sucks, but let’s not replace it with something just as bad”— I say to you that nothing on that platform is anywhere as close to as bad as what trump is doing (in fact, it’s good)

Bruh.

The DSA wants to end capitalism. They outright say it.

Now what we have isn’t true capitalism. I’d like a return to that, but I doubt it ever happens.

Define true capitalism, or an era/system that you’d like returned to.

Or you could ask for clarification before just jumping full tilt into ****ery.

Great and this is a single graphic from Fox News on a socialist. Heaven forbid I encourage people to get details and knowledge before just pledging blind support for ****.

In this specific case, how does she plan to get to these objectives.

But naw, let’s act like I was saying any of the **** posted because it’s more entertaining.

Bernie really ignited class consciousness in 2016, and advanced America’s trajectory by like 30 years.

Laughing at the pro-capitalists in this thread— DSA is totally nailing their messaging, turning out votes, and it’s a matter of time before every metro area has a political sphere dominated by either social democrats or democratic socialists who want to end capitalism.

Stoked, I’m sorry— you will get lampooned every time you point at that graphic and tell people to exercise caution cuz replacing it might be as bad as trump.

Trying to roll out pharmacare and failing is not as disastrous as what’s going on down there rn

I’m sorry people posted that graphic and where all automatic “I’m in” and I said what about details. What’s the plan? To make sure we leave Trump for the right thing not just the next thing.

The nerve...

I’m for rounding up dangerous illegals!

I’m in!

Ignore the fact I’m gonna violate civil rights all over the place to get there.

I’m for universal healthcare!

I’m in!

Ignore that I’m closing all health insurance companies right away and closing all those jobs.

But nope, it’s “not trump” so it must be good.

/facepalm

One of the main reasons, imo, that we have trump is to many votes off stupid *** slogans that sounded good to them. Without getting informed.

Ah, that job argument is terrible.

Ah, that job argument is terrible.

Of course it is. Exaggerated for effect.

The point stands though. A graphic from Fox News on a socialist leaning candidate. Not the best source of info and we immediately saw blanket support.

F that. Give me details. Give me a plan. Let’s do this right.

Again, these ideas AOC has didnt pop up yesterday. Sorry if you are slow to know about them, but the rest of us arent.

Don't doubt Dal's political faith.

Of course, "socialism" is just a societal construct invented by imaginative proponents of oligarchy based in ideological manipulations of the ignoramuses among us, presumed to be the majority by the elites who hope to rule the world personally through their lies.

Venezuela, North Korea, etc etc. "Successful" statist implementations of "socialism" in any of its variants all eventually come home to mama cartelism. Putin's Russia, Xi's China. Not especially competitive without willing cartelists' help from the globalist camp, willing to transplant American businesses into the pure Statist paradigm.

a lot of kids have been indoctrinated with socialist nonsense by college profs. Most will lose their faith within a few years, except the rich ones who don't have any immediate survival issues, like some JFC members. wink wink.

I think I know one who is willing to dodge the obvious implications of the practical reality with rhetorical denials like my commie buddy used to tell me about, in his passionate defenses of his belief that nature was built with a mechanism for progressively approaching the imagined utopia, as "utilitarian" failings in implementation. temporary failings, of course.

I never did convince him that property rights are inherently necessary for any human rights at all, because of all the utilitarian needs of society along the way essentially devolving into the special property rights of the managers/elites, who will forever run the show.

bottom line, if humans do not have inherent human rights, we will always be ruled by the remorseless thugs with the bigger clubs.

If people do not routinely run the thugs outta town, we got no good life.

Define true capitalism, or an era/system that you’d like returned to.

Laissez-Faire in an ideal world. Ideal world doesn’t exist, so there does need to be some government regulation in the form of taxes, unions, etc. But the free market, economically, is great. It’s root ideas, provide a better product for a better price, is best for the consumer. In my experience, when people are getting paid regardless of the product quality, the product quality suffers.

I like the pure idea of socialism, I think the problem with that comes with human nature and the economics. If you can explain to me how you pay for it in America, I’m all ears.
