Central tank command : the official thread

Read the post I responded to: it was predicting what would happen in the draft.

Since Chicago reportedly wants a 1st for Mirotic, I'm saying it's very possible if a trade doesn't happen for Mirotic before the deadline, DL could wait to make sure he doesn't get a top-3 pick and then trade Burks and the rights to the Jazz' pick for Mirotic.

The positives to both teams doing it this way? Jazz don't get any better, especially if Favs is dealt. So the possibility of getting an even better pick may increase. Bulls may want an immediate return on a trade, rather than a protected pick. If Utah keeps their pick, Chicago can pick up Mirotic's option and trade him to any team.

Mirotic likes us. I'd take that chance up to around 12 in the draft. Granted, there's always risk, but this draft isn't as deep as last year. It's great at the top, but I doubt a Donovan is available late lottery.

What am I really hoping for? Jazz and Chicago agree on a lottery-protected pick and Utah doesn't make the playoffs. Jazz draft someone who will turn into a decent rotation player and then the pick conveys after next season, when it's in the 20's.

Mirotic's last 4 games have been unimpressive. Maybe that justifies what Lindsey has likely offered and Chicago doesn't want to accept. My guess is Chicago bites on Favors and a lottery-protected pick right at the deadline.

Im not gonna hate on any of you that supported the tank..... I know that you guys thought it was the best thing for the jazz at the time, and had valid and sound reasoning for the tank.
I never left the playoff bus for the tank but was pretty damn close. Playoff bus is just way more fun than the tank. Winning >>>>>>>>>>>>> losing.

Damn right! The Bus ran the Tank off the road, wrecked it into a ditch lit it on fire and toasted marshmallows on it.

Choo choo
Now have to change my vote to Stoked. Relentless optimism in the face of what could have been a brutal fall after Hayward’s departure made this season much more interesting.

I’ll always choose winning and getting to the playoffs over tanking for the hope of a better pick and the risk that a one and done fails to pan out.

Agreed. The only exception being that year that if we made the playoffs we lose our 1st rounder and we made the playoffs, lost our draft pick, and got swept by the spurs.
I wish we would have lost a few more games and kept our pick.

Playoff bus took a nice fat crap on the tank. Officially.

Congratulations Jazz. Glad I don’t look like too big of a dumbass in this thread.
