Current Players NBA Draft Round 1: Grayson's Hands vs. ONE LOVE

Which team would win in a 7-game series?

  • Total voters

Murray, Matthews, Gallinari, Portis, Ibaka

Who is better than Lou Williams in that group? Literally is there one player who is better?
Lou Williams is a terrific regular season scorer.

He is a bottom 1% defender in the NBA and his offense takes a nosedive in playoff settings.

Lou Will averaged 22.6 PPG and 5.3 APG while winning 6th man of the year and somehow OL has three better bench players than him?

LMAO

Yes, he had a career year at 31 and I dont expect him to be as good next year and I have 0 respect for his style of play in a playoff setting (as history has shown for his entire career in the playoffs).

It also really hurts that your 3 of your 4 non-center bench players (Warren/Melo/Lou) are redundant high usage scorers who arent even league average at anything else.

I am close to voting for OL but Grayson's hands has that Doncic vibe, beside other things.

Dolan has no idea when he’s coming back he’s been told anywhere from December to put the entire year, plus he’s a 7-3 player which makes it rough for them to come back from the injury. I doubt he’ll be the same player in his career, or at the very least this coming year

That was in April. He's now training in Madrid and there's a chance he could be back by Christmas.

A rookie starting really hurts Grayson's team. Rookies rarely help teams win games their first year. I expect Luka to be good but his first year I am not counting on him being much help. He might put up good stats but probably won't be helping his team win. But maybe he will prove that wrong.

As far as the rest goes one love is better at 3 positions, obviously harden is better and the center spot is debatable. So Grayson's only for sure better at 1 spot.

The benches are pretty close but I lean towards Grayson's bench.

Overall it's close but one loves team is slightly better depending on Porz getting back and healthy this year, which I assume he will.

So Doncic the most NBA ready prospect in the draft won’t help his team win and Porzingis will come back healthy.

Makes sense.

Why do I even try drafting a team with these dumb comments. We saw three rookies lead their teams in the playoffs this year. It’s Doncic for crying out loud.

The operative word being a chance. It says they really won’t know till September. It’s also not good that he’s 7-3 and plays more like a sf. Recovery for that type of player is always a little more difficult. At the very least, he won’t be the same player this year.

The history of rookies helping their teams win is rare. Just because it happened in a historically great rookie class ( and one of them was a red-shirt rookie) doesnt mean it will happen again. Dallas will likely be a bottom 3 team in the West this year and I doubt Doncic really changes their games won that greatly, if at all. If Doncic was a bench player, Id look on it much more favorably. As a starter he is probably a liability against high level teams in a playoff situation. And you seem to have forgotten this is in the context of a playoff series because you argue that Lou Williams is a good player to have when the objective truth is that he is a terrible playoff player.

These are not dumb comments. The dumb comment is you ignoring historical context and citing a single season as your argument. Simmons/Tatum/Mitchell were all plus defenders as well, or at least had the capability of playing plus defense when called upon. Doncic will not have that to fall back on and you are pairing him on a team in a role he isnt use to as a tertiary ball-handler instead of a secondary one.
