What's new

Following potential 2017 draftees...

I have watched a lot of Mitchell today and I am not sold on him. He is a high usage type of player and the jazz don't need a high usage player on their roster right now. I would take Kennard just because he is a better fit. I know those are dangerous words but this is not like drafting Sam Bowie over Michael Jordan. This is a mid 20s pick and things are a lot muddier.

They both had nearly the exact same usage rate this year...

Another real screwy variable to throw into some of this cross class comparisons (since Thon was brought up) is how do these Bigs stack up with 6'10" 7'4" wingspan Jaren Jackson Jr. in next years draft, who was apparently one of the big winners from the Hoop Summit practices/game.

I'd probably take Jackson over Hartenstein at this point tbh.

I think it is insane that number of bigs that the jazz could possible see at 23.

John Collins
Justin Patton
Ike Anigbogu
Isaiah Hartenstein
Jarret Allen
Ivan Rabb
TJ Leaf
Harry Giles
Caleb Swanigan
Bam Adebayo
Mathias Lessort
Jonathan Jeanne
Johnathan Motley
Jordan Bell
Thomas Bryant
Omar Yurtseven
Cam Oliver
Anzejs Pasecniks

I know some of them will go second round but most have floated late first early second during the year.

This is really the key Donovan Mitchell performance, and this is when Quinten Snider was out injured.

No doubt that Bruce Brown is the better fit for Utah tho IMO.

Jazz don't need these anchors upfront because Rudy and Favors are already here, they need specialists and not one's redundant with Lyles.

TJ Leaf and Cam Oliver stand out to me as a nice pair of additions when looking at it that way. (Pacenicks, Jeanne and Bryant to a lesser extent too)

I am looking at it as a replacement to favors because I think he will be a salary causality in 2018 if not this summer.

WOW! If he goes undrafted I hope Utah signs him to a 3 year deal. He's got potential sorta like Brad Miller and he's young.

He could easily get drafted tho.

Sacha Killeya Jones has gotta be breathing much easier now thinking about next seasons minutes.

Antonio Blakeney is declaring. He is an interesting pure 2-guard prospect. According to DX he recorded a 45'' vertical two years ago at LSU's pro day. Can probably take that with a grain of salt, but the dude can get buckets.
