Following potential 2017 draftees...

All that being said, I am pretty confident that Butler is NOT going to the Celtics. Ainge will screw that up by making some idiotic demand at the last minute.

Hopefully not. We want them to get Butler so that they can't get Hayward.

No, best case is that they screw the Butler thing up, that turns off Hayward and he signs here, THEN they finish off the Clippers by stealing Griffin. Then I never have to see that collection of whiners on the court all at one time again. I almost hate them worse than Houston. . .

This would be a nearly best case scenario. IMO, Jazz still need to try to make a splash themselves. . . but I think missing on Butler and settling on Griffin would be a hilarious outcome for the Celtics.

If they want to, they will just do the Butler trade after free agency. If anything moving from 1 to 3 saves them a bit of money they can use to sign Hayward.

Celtics with Butler and Griffin would be a fun team to watch.

Option 1 is Hayward has told them - I'm staying in Utah(or going to Miami) and they are now going elsewhere for a wing + possibly trying to sign Griffin
Option 2 - they want to stack their wing positions. It is a bit weird, because in this case they get stuck with IT and will have to pay him next year. It also means that their bigs position is left barren. They will only have Horford and nobody else(possibly rookies? Zizic/ Yabusele ?

Same people who say Butler/Hayward wouldn't work are the same tards who said Durant wouldn't work in GS

To me Hayward and Butler together is not weird at all. It's a dynamic wing duo that I would love to see on the Jazz. THe big problem with it though is having the midget at the PG spot. Are they really going to pay him max'ish money next year? IT has value when he's creating offense on a team that lacked offensive creation. A lot of his value is lost when you have 2 playmaking wings, while his liability on D won't be mitigated by a team lacking point of attack defense(IT) and lacking a good rim-protector. This will be a really weird fit to me - again, not because of Hayward/Butler combo, but because they seemingly get tied to IT long term.

That's the thing, If Boston gets Butler, why the Hell do they need Hayward? They need a center, and they would be rolling. You could get Dewayne Dedmon and Aron Baynes to back him up for less than what you will be paying Hayward. Now Boston is a legit defensive force while being able to cover for IT.
What Boston knows, but you don't is that they already have a center.

I think Hayward and Butler would work just fine together. . . in Utah. Gobert and Hill/Exum don't need to dominate the ball offensively to be effective and (theoretically) will play solid defense as well.

I don't like the pairing of IT and Horford with them nearly as much as anything Utah has to offer.

Still, it's wild to say a team would be better off getting Baynes and Dedmon over Hayward if they already had Butler.

I don't think Chicago will want to wait until after free agency if they are trading Butler. That would be significant rebuilding time lost and everything put on hold. And if they are getting the 3rd pick in this draft it will be time lost bringing the player up to date in their system.

Horford is an amazing center to have with Butler/Hayward. He is the best playmaking center in teh NBA. Would open up the floor a ton and make them virtually impossible to guard.
