Game 5, 11/5/14: Cleveland Cavs at Utah Jazz, 7 pm

good thing about tonight : we managed to win vs a contender
bad thing about tonight : you cant let anyone close 16 pts gap in a handful of mins in high lvl competition, if you do, you cant be always lucky to win as today
(p.s. lebron is a superstar and he knows how to get fouls, so favors should learn not to make such dumb mistakes in critical mins.)
 
Just a couple of gen nba notes......... Rondo with the triple dubble and the 76ers lololololololololol (0-5 start to an epic tank!)
 
If the Gif gods could be so kind, I need a gif of Hayward D'ing up LeBron in the final minute and forcing him into a crappy shot. That was boss.

Basketball is a game of runs... Good teams will find a way to come back. Happens to every team in the league.... Not a big deal really

Too bad Kanter could not have been in on that play. He would have been 10 feet away from him.

The basketball gods were pissed that Favors left his feet on the play, so they inspired the refs to give Lebron the bogus FTs- a punishment had to be given, but Lebron traveled on the play as well - that had to be punished, so Lebron fell down and G-time drilled a tough 21 footer.

The bbal gods are in charge.

You mean that he's aware that he won't get called for travelling or an offensive foul when he does both at the end of games? And that he's also aware that all he has to do is make contact by any means necessary to get the call from an NBA officiating crew doing everything in their power to rig the final score of the game?

Favors jumped and landed before contact, Lebron travelled and jumped into Favors who did not touch him before he landed. In no universe except the NBA fix is in universe that there was a foul on Favors on that play. Travelling? Yes. Offensive foul? maybe. Defensive foul? No ****ing way.
 
So Gordon hit the shot right in front of Gail miller and the team's celebration spilled over onto her. She reacted today by instructing Lindsey to wave Jordan Hamilton.

I'd say they have the worst record wrapped up easily, but those Lakers....it's going to be quite the battle when those two meet. Maybe a Kobe shot accidentally goes in and the Lakers win 2-0.

Not saying it was a great call, but Fvaors got faked out of his shoes, he was turned sideways. He wasn't stationary for long enough when LBJ went up for the three. Many players jump forward a few feet when putting up a three and you have to allow them to land. Had Favors put up his arms and not jumped on the pump fake and then LBJ jumps into him: no call. It was a savvy move by LBJ.
 
Yeah, Favors fouled Lebron and Lebron didn't travel. If you look at the video you'll see his left foot stay stationary and his right foot move forward twice. And even if that call was questionable, it would be offset by Hayward's goal tend on Lebron that lead to a Jazz dunk on the other end.

But in the end what matters is that we played better basketball for a greater portion of the game. The Cavs suck at defense and we made them pay for that.

Yeah, I was pissed at the time, but ultimately, if you're Favors, you simply can't leave your feet right there. Just a bad basketball play, Lebron took advantage and put it in the refs hands.
