Stars with a 7 point win vs Memphis. Bolmaro played and had 9 assists 7 points and 5 rebounds and looked OK. Frank Jackson had 25 points and Juzang had 24 points. The Stars bench won this for them: Stacy Davis, Elijah Cain and Isiah Miller were in big positive numbers in the box while all were in double figures scoring. Jeenathan Williams did not have his best game. Tyler Cook led the Stars in rebounding.
 
Stars with a 30 point win vs Memphis. Every Star except Juzang scored in double figures and he had 9 points. Stacy Davis with a triple double 24 points, 17 rebounds and 10 assists. Frank Jackson was the leading scorer with 30. The only shot Bolmaro missed tonight was a free throw. Jeenathan Williams had 22 and led the Stars in +-. Memphis was 9-2 going into last night. The Stars are now at 8-8. Stars played with eight guys including Bolmaro.
 
The Salt Lake City Stars, the official NBA G League affiliate of the Utah Jazz, announced today the acquisition of forward EJ Anosike from the available player pool. In a related move, the team waived forward Kenny Wooten. Anosike averaged 16 ppg 8 rebounds for Cal State Fullerton in 2021-22.
 
Stars win at the Delta Center to go over .500. Juzang with 36, Frank Jackson 27, and Jeenathan with a strong game ended up as the Stars leading rebounder and Juzang was the leading assist person. Stars played only eight guys with the guy they just signed off the street being one of them. Pop the champagne corks.
 
Willie Cauley Stein who was the 6th player taken in the draft in 2015 played for the Stars opponent last night. He was selected just ahead of Emmanuel Mudiay and Stanley Johnson. Sometimes lottery selections don't work out: see DedEx.
 
Frank Jackson of the Stars was selected in the GLeague's "Next Up" game during the All Star festivities. He is one of twenty-eight players selected. Saben Lee was also selected although he is on the Suns roster at the moment.
 
Stars with a 9 point road win in Greensboro. Juzang the leading scorer with 23, Tyler Cook with 22 points, 18 boards and 2 blocks. Jeenathan with a quietly effective game along with Frank Jackson. I could see Cook and Jackson getting signed by the Jazz. They both have NBA experience and play positions the Jazz appear to need.
 
The Stars are rolling with a 9 point win on the road vs the Magic GLeaguers. Tyler Cook was the star going for a double double with 10-10 shooting and 4 blocks. Frank Jackson and Juzang both had over 20 points. Cook and Juzang tied for the leading assister. Same teams tomorrow from sunny Florida.
 
Stars win streak gets snapped in a 10 point loss to Lakeland. Rawlie Alkins had a triple double and Stacy Davis had a double double tonight and was the leading scorer with 36 points. No Juzang tonight as he was apparently with the Jazz tonight. The Stars played with eight players and their bench did them in. Davis and Frank Jackson were the only Stars with a + in the box. Also in the GLeague Stars alum Paris Bass dropped 50 points with 11 boards, Elijah Hughes had 20 points and Trent Forrest had 8 points 9 rebounds.
 
RJ Hampton played for Lakeland and had 22 points against the Stars. He might be a guy Ainge and company are interested in.
 
Stars beat the Skyforce last night to move ahead of them in the standings. Five players finished in double figures for the Stars. Tyler Cook led the team with 26 points on 13-of-17 from the field and added seven rebounds, and four assists. Christian Vital came off the bench to record 23 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists. Jeenathan posted a near double-double with 22 points, and nine rebounds, while Rawle Alkins, coming off his previous game’s triple-double, talled 20 points, eight rebounds, and five assists. Frank Jackson finished with 18 points, four rebounds and two assists. Justin Champagnie led the Skyforce in scoring, notching a double-double to finish with a game-high 43 points to go with 13 rebounds. Another Skyforce player Ainge and company might keep an eye on is Brandon McCoy who is a center that was a McDonald's All American and played a year at UNLV.
 
The GLeague All Star game exposed Scoot as a fraud. I think I would rather have Trey Burke as the point guard of the future. Scoot and Jimmer play similar stout, solid defense.
 
I the wake of the Frank Jackson signing the Stars signed 6'6" CJ Elleby a 2nd round pick of the Blazers in 2020. In other words he was selected after Bolmaro, Dok, Elijah Hughes and Saben Lee.
 
In the NGAF category the Kings made a couple of moves yesterday. They signed PJ Dozier to a rest of the season contract and waived small forward KZ Okpala who just underwent minor knee surgery and is out for the season. KZ was a high second round draft pick in 2019 much higher than THT. I think both would be worthy of Summer League invitations to see what they have.
 
Stars with a road win vs Santa Cruz. Christian Vital the leading scorer with 24. Potter is back from elbow surgery and had a double double and led the team in assists. Jeenathan with a strong game.
 
As the Jazz are scrimmaging the Spurs on Monday, the Stars get to welcome the Wisconsin Herd and Elijah Hughes and Paris Bass back to Salt Lake.
