GSW Draft Pick Watch

Also I do not want Lebron. If I have to take a player of superstar caliber I want Durant.
Gah! Good point. Somehow, I momentarily forgot about that dude. Yes, I take Durant over every superstar out there, too.

Both are certainly among the very best players, but I would have to disagree with you about preferring Durrant over Lebron.

The reasons I want Durant over Lebron is that he provides exactly what Utah needs, that floor stretching star. Also Lebron has no heart, no fight. I would not Lebron at all.

Where do you guys think Durant and Lebron will go in this draft? Will their stock rise or fall?

I think the #1 pick this year should be that 6' 9" point guard out of Michigan State named after his Magic man-parts. #2 probably that kid with the Nike contract out of North Carolina.

Absolutely it has a huge effect on the value from this pick, I just don't think it has a huge affect on the overall return from the Deron trade, which is how I read your original statement. I think you said "swing" the value of the trade, which I took to mean that the Jazz win or lose the trade based on the outcome of this pick. Maybe I misread that.

Option 1: Harris, Favors, Kanter, 2012 #8 pick
Option 2: Harris, Favors, Kanter, 2013 #14 pick
Obviously I would prefer option 1, but I don't think that winning/losing the trade hinges on this pick.

not only do i agree with everything here, but let's remember when evaluating that trade that we're not talking about harris/favors/kanter/pick vs. deron williams. we're talking harris/favors/kanter/pick vs. a season and a half of a pouty, whiny deron williams who had already given up on his team and his hall-of-fame coach and who was going to be counting the days until free agency.

i think most nets fans would LOVE a do-over on that trade right now, regardless of the value of the draft pick that's ultimately conveyed.

Simply put, anyone that doesn't think KOC and the Jazz, as an organization, did the right thing in that trade is naive..................IMO (of course).

From NJ's POV it might end up being one of the worst trades in recent NBA history. You'd have to include the (only!) top 3 protected pick for Wallace in that as well. So Harris, Favors, #3 pick(Kanter), GSW pick and the Wallace pick all for MAYBE a season and a half rental.

Granted NJ is basically a D-League team + DWill, but if you go back and look at his (DWill's) last 18 games with us, plus his tenure in NJ - his record is 39 - 70. I think DWill is great player, but let's be honest - KOC came out smelling like roses on this one.

That trade was the right thing to do. But I still question some of the stuff KOC does.

And even though that was the right trade I still have fond memories of Deron playing for us, and wish he would have wanted to be here.

When Deron looks back on his career as a mature older man, he will probably see the error of his ways. Especially if he never gets a peek at a championship. He'll realize this was the place he should have treated with more respect.

That game against Minnesota is going to be an epic Tank Bowl.

Minnesota has Lost 11 in a row. That could be some hope for us.

Hope.
