It's not true. I don't say the sorts of things about people that you do in this, or any other environment. I don't treat people, or even think about treating people, in the ways that you brag about treating people. You seem to think that being crude and insulting somehow strengthens your point. I disagree. You'll probably dump another truckload of insults on me and my family because somehow that makes you feel better about yourself, but I don't care.

I essentially told another poster to "go ____ themself" while they were following me around antagonizing me. I get it "context" and all. But there is always context surrounding filtered words that basically fills in the blank. I thought the magic was that since the word isn't right there for children to see it was okay.

I would like clarity on that. If instead of letting the filter do the work would I have been any better off had I actually typed asterisks instead of letting the filter do it for me?

And why can't I tell a person to go **** their self anyway? That's clearly a personal attack as compared to all the other personal attacks that happen every day here?

Would calling Muslims "animals" not be a personal attack against Muslims? We have Muslim posters here FYI. Seems like that's easily more offensive and far far less family friendly than essentially telling someone to buzz off.

Because according to you it’s all coming down to the one post that the infraction (warning with point) was issued against. It usually isn’t. It’s context and history and a consensus mod vote. But continue to bitch about it and claim I have an agenda and bias. There’s no way in hell we can black or white everything that goes on here. If so, everyone would have fracts and that’s all we would do all day as a mod team. Perhaps we should get rid of Gen Discussion because most infractions are issued there. Would that be better? No. People like to talk about more than just the Jazz with others they know.

But when people continually attack back and forth or with a majority of a thread, what else are we to do? We just try to maintain sanity. You’ll never be happy. Just like others never will be. We aren’t perfect nor are we consistent based on this description. But we have FIVE infractions before anything matters, really. Five! That’s pretty damn lenient - and that is for YOU as well as Dutch or others you despise. Ignore them. Walk away. It’s a feature of the software to ignore someone. Report them (you’re doing that). A poop emoji might result in a permanent ban for one and ignored for others. We suck. I got it. Because it’s so easy.

Some days I wonder whether it is worth it.
 
And no you’re not held accountable for a word that should be filtered but wasn’t. Assuming you typed the word correctly and didn’t try to bypass the filter. If that happened let me know.

I’m not trying to be combative and apologize. I just get tired of the second guessing as if it is all clear and easy and we just pick on a handful. People get so upset when we issue a warning. I get it but it doesn’t make our job easier.

If the majority of the community would prefer we just ban without consensus and not use a mod voting system then I’m open to listening. If anything is consistent here, it is the forgiving nature. Maybe that’s not a good thing.

If the majority would like dislikes and negs back then I’m open to listening. Open a poll. Let’s discuss. The software we are on doesn’t support it but I can look into it more. I generally don’t care for a negative system like that but I understand it has a place if not abused.

If the majority doesn’t want chat, fine. Looks like that’s the case.

I’m not pushing an agenda - just trying to allow openess and maintain order when things go too far.

To Bulletproof and others, I’m sorry. In time I believe things work out. I don’t get it right always but I hope things eventually shake out. Warnings with and without points expire on purpose. But that’s for everyone.

I'm not trying to re-litigate my WWP (warning with points). You guys can infract me for whatever you see fit. I just want to understand it.

I think there are cases where the issues go beyond the typical mod vote, 3WWP in 180 days, etc. I think I've made it clear that I think Dutch falls into that category.

I was honestly disappointed and very surprised to see Dutch was still posting as frequently as he was and he was being as offensive as ever. I mean, calling Muslims savages repeatedly. It took me to report that? Mods were responding to those posts. I'm also pretty sure I saw a post where he called them animals, but couldn't find it. I mean, that's just the clearly over the top kind of stuff that if it is a pattern over many years I just don't understand why it processes through the normal mod vote, WWP/180 thing. I think you have the executive authority to make the call on that one.

But maybe I'm just particularly sensitive to such things and don't understand why other people aren't.

I post quite a bit on realgm, and this board is 1,000,000,000,000,000 times better in terms of how things are moderated. The mods over there have too much power to do as they please, and even though there are a lot of good mods, the bad ones ruin the board. Some threads get locked because a particular mod thinks there might end up being a problem, so just in case, better lock thread. Way too much moderation based on personal feelings, such as insulting a player that a certain mod likes. Those goons over there run things like a dictator in charge of his very own first grade classroom.

No system is perfect, but Jason and Colton do a good job of letting a lot of things go and only get involved when they deem necessary or when a particular poster has been getting out of hand a lot. I think it says a lot that someone could porn bomb this board and still be welcomed back at some point.

Anyway, I've definitely done my share of being a pain in the *** around here, so I just want to thank Jason/Colton and co. for all they do. Keep up the good work.

When it comes to one's wife.

I remember back in the day I took a shot at Trout's wife and Kicky's girl. They both never stooped that low and the only personal dig Trout ever did to me was call me by my last name on here. I still cringe thinking about those photoshops I did. Lesson learned.
