The fact that this is even close is a terrible sign for Obama. Usually the incumbent has a decent lead and wins. The challenger usually doesn't challenge until fall, if at all. If Obama is slipping now, he may be in serious trouble.
What cracks me up is all the predictions and we haven't even seen a debate or a convention. It's still pretty early in the game. Technically, Mitt isn't even the nominee yet.
I doubt it. It is close on popular vote but Obama has it electorally.
Projections for Tuesday, May 15, 2012
Electoral Votes: Barack Obama 303 Mitt Romney 235
Popular Vote: Barack Obama 49.4% Mitt Romney 49.1%

The GOP will probably retake the Senate though

So Romney gained a lot of ground, but the Senate looks to remain in Harry's hands. So you can look forward to a Mormon vs. Mormon brawl for the next 2 years.

Yeah, I hate to break it to you but if the map stays this way then Obama has a 2nd term.[/QUOT
You like breaking harsh news you dream crusher!
The fact it's close means the Republicans have put up an awful candidate. Obama hasn't done much and the economy is stagnant. Think George H.W. Bush. But that year the Dems nominated a candidate worth a damn.
I remember in 04 thinking Bush the 2nd had no chance. I mean, everyone could see what an idiot he was and the he started meaningless wars, who would really vote for him? And the the Dems nominated John Kerry, and the wheels fell off even though it was a race decided by one state.
I would argue one point. I get that Romney might not be as likeable as say GWB in 2000, but he certainly isn't a Rick Santorum who would have women running towards Obama. I think Romney is really a moderate who is pro-life because it is politically practical. JMO of course.
Bill Maher recently observed the magic of Romney is that he's been so many things that many believe the secret real Romney is the one that agrees with them.
That is funny but Bill Maher is a political hack. He is a shock jock.
