Is it just me or has Royce O'Neale looked great so far? I think that DM's awesome amazingness eclipsed Royce's rookie season and how much of a bargain this guy is.

From what I've seen in the 2 PRESEASON GAMES so far he looks to have improved. Do y'all think he will continue to be a bargain for the Jazz and does he have starter potential?

I think he can be a starter, yes. Every team needs a Royce. He fits well to Coach Q's system because he knows what to do before he gets the ball.
His teammates also keep mentioning he has improved a lot this offseason. He certainly seemed 'sharper' to me.
I hope he avoids making rookie mistakes he did last year such as blowing open layups.

Love Royce. When can we extend him? Gotta keep him here long-term.

He's on a mil a year for the next two years i believe, I suggested last year he should be offered improved terms, its a very team friendly deal. For instance Neto's money would have been better spent on Royce.

I think people often overlook how valuable it is with the salary cap to have a couple of good (contributing) players on bargain contracts.
Really? I think close to 100% of people realize that our time to strike is NOW specifically because of the value in DM’s and Royce’s deals. That’s why everyone is talking about next summer. (Not just on this site, but, like, everyone).

Netos money was spent on gobert. Everyone needs a little buddy.

Yeah look and its probably not a terrible thing at the end of the day, Neto isn't a terrible player, makes good choices with the ball but he's only gonna play if someone gets injured. i thought he was pretty good in his 10 to 12 minutes a game last year and he's a tough little bastard, they're always handy to have around. Still i think Grayson plays ahead of him this year.

Good thread. I agree that royce has looked very good so far and improved from last year (even at the jazz scrimmage/open house thing he shot the ball pretty well iirc) and i also agree that being close with DM might help speed up his improvement.

And both years are team options - as a sign of good faith Jazz should guarantee both years now.

A little loyalty now might keep him in Utah long term.

Royce has elite level three and D potential. I'm expecting a huge jump from him this season.
