My understanding is that she made a decision not to come out at the end of August, but then once details started to got leaked and misrepresented (which was after the FBI attached the letter to Kavenaugh's background file with her name redacted, something the Judiciary Committee would have access to) she decided it was worth upending her life to come forward.

I can't imagine what it would be like to see someone who assaulted you on a fast track to one of the most powerful and long lasting positions of authority in this country. Responses like Joe's are a sad reminder of how far we still have to go for women to be taken seriously in this country.

I think it's entirely possible that she believes this memory is real. I think it's 100% impossible to know whether it is or not at this point. I do not think that event, whether it happened or not, is relevant to this nomination. I think this situation is entirely political. I understand why people who do not want conservative judges appointed are seizing upon it.

Without further evidence this is going to end up as, “he said he she said” and he will be confirmed.

However, reading his views on women, his ties to the Federalist society, and learning more about his background everyday, I think it’s not unreasonable to think that Bretty Boy has a few skeletons in the closet. It’s almost like he believes women should be subservient to men and shouldn’t have power over their bodies... weird!

Whether or not there’s evidence to indict or convict is the question.

What’s sad is how she’s being treated. Clearly, the attacks from Breitbart, Orrin Hatch, and Trolls trolls sadly show why women don’t come forward after these horrific experiences.
