The reason Obama's citizenship is questioned

I do find it interesting that The Thriller came on here and when he failed misreably to truly get what was going on that PearlWatson suddenly started posting.

Huh? Failed?

By providing some more evidence that Obama really is a citizen who actually lived and studied in Hawaii? Sorry I had to meet other obligations today (I'm back to work in just a few minutes).

There can be no other reason a person would question citizenship. None.

Glad we agree. Why else would anyone question a candidate's citizenship? Unless you can provide a case of a white, christian, Anglo politician being put through this?

There have also been no other Presidents who have such strong connections outside the U.S..

I mean, it's like some people are trying not to understand the other side. I've always followed the saying: know your enemy better than your enemy knows you. Which I take to mean that you should attempt to understand your opponents position from their perspective. Maybe that's a skill many people lack, but in my opinion it's a complete and utter lack of desire to give those you stand against any credibility, not even in your own mind. It's a flaw in my opinion. Your opponent doesn't have to be sub-human in order for your disagreement with them to be legitimate. Whatever. Trying to understand an issue is equivalent to racism. Showing anything but complete obedience to the racial taboo we're replacing old school racism with means you must be destroyed.

Look, the man's mother is an American. Born here. Raised here. Not even the craziest loonies dispute that. He can't not be a citizen. Not even if he was born on Newt's lunar colony. There is no way for Obama not to be a natural born citizen.

How else can I explain the witch hunt which is contrary to all reason? How else can I explain that this ridiculous and likely unconstitutional provision against those born abroad has been on the books for 200+ years and has never been an issue until now?

Because he went to an Indonesian elementary school, his mother spent a lot of time abroad and his father is Kenyan. We've been over this on page 1. Can you at least acknowledge those facts as reasons why people might question his citizenship or can it only be racism?

I know its frustrating, but im sure you know by now, that if you dont agree in total with the other side you must be racist or a bigot. There is no other possible explaination for not agreeing with their superior intellect and enlightened point of view. They have 'progressed'.
The side of tolerance tolerates nothing that doesnt agree with them. To disagree with them is a sign of neing a nutjob wacko and an extremist, obviously.

So in order not to be a birther I must ask no questions? Got it. The questions that have been raised are fake and just cover for racism. There can be no other reason a person would question citizenship. None.

Ask questions. But put forth at least some amount of effort in order to research these things.

Look, it's not like this is a brand new issue. I'm pretty sure basic wiki pages explaining Obama's birth certificate, schooling, etc have been available for years now. It's not like this stuff hasn't been reported a million times over. If you're honestly ignorant of these facts it's more than likely out of your own choice than anything else.

It became clear to me early on it was not about policy for Obama. From day one we heard stupid arguments about his birth cirtificate, and we are still hearing about that. He was a muslin, a radical, a communist! He's barrack HUSSEIN obama!

If you are being completely honest, on a personal note Obama is one of the coolest guys I've ever seen in the white house. The way he interacts with people is awesome. He plays basketball for heavens sake. He is a great speaker, and seems so down to earth on videos on him personally. Frankly I've never seen anyone like him in the white house.

If I was hearing a lot more comments like "He's a really cool guy, but I hate his policies" I'd be more inclined to believe it.
The attacks on Obama were extreme. They were over the top, and non-stop. There was a hate machine put in place before he was elected.

I have to admire that no matter how many times you fall flat on your face with your inability to truly understand what is going on you get right back up and start swinging again.

I have to admire that no matter how many times you "claim" to have put me on your ignore list you still respond to my posts.

Hilarious!

And how did I fall flat on my face again? By kicking your ***? Oh yeah, guess I did do that again.

Speaking of swinging again, did you ever correct that one post? Bassing?! LOL! Do you still "bass" arguments???

The problem is that none of those facts has the smallest effect on Obama's citizenship. Not an iota. It's like questioning heliocentrism because summer days are longer than winter days.

I think the tactic of dismissing and side-stepping the key points (there is zero rational basis for these claims) by talking about some notion of tolerance that does not actually apply will be very effective. No one will notice it. Good work.

So you're satisfied with the answers you've been given (and so am I, btw). It doesn't mean everyone has to be. It doesn't mean the window for having questions has passed and no one is allowed to question anymore.

Since when was having questions or doubts such a horrible thing?

I don't see how it's a positive thing having "doubts" or creating "questions" over something that has already been proven a million times over. Would having doubts or questioning the earth's shape or whether it truly revolves around the sun be a good thing?

Other than him being black those are things that cause people to question not only his citizenship, which HAS been established, but also his loyalty to the U.S..

I personally always found the citizenship requirement to be odd. To me the U.S. isn't an exclusive club but an idea and the best shot any human had at being free. We have attracted the best and the brightest from all over the world who have come here to pursue their dreams. The American way of life should benefit those who are willing to buy-in, therefore loyalty with those who's interests are the same as the nation's interests need not be questioned.

Since when is entertaining doubts on settled issues an inherently good thing? Should we be hunting for unicorns in Antartica?

I guess when those for whom the issue is settled don't even acknowledge the points on which you have doubts and continually tell you the "real" reason why you have doubts.
