Following potential 2015 draftees

If you're asking if I'd trade Hood, I'd definitely consider it, although I'd prefer to keep him if at all possible. I'd also consider moving Burks to get Hezonja. Not trading Exum, though.

I think Russell, Winslow and Hezonja all end up costing way too much to trade up for. Best case scenario for the Jazz is to move up (for a reasonable price) to grab Johnson, Porzingis or Turner and have that guy be the Thompson/Leonard/Butler/Drummond/Gobert type of player that everyone else missed out on. I think that all 3 have that type of potential.

Looney and Portis are working out for the Jazz tomorrow.

Hollins is a guy I loved watching play. The few games I saw him in, he was a stone-cold killer. Lit it up from all over the floor AND played defense.

Just about everyone here agrees that if we move up, it should be for Russell or Mario.

I like Towns a lot, too, but he's not as much of a need and would cost more to get.

Would be super surprised if we trade up for Porzingis. You have to really really like a guy to commit that many assets to a player who is as risky as Porz is.

No one in this draft is good enough to trade up for outside of Russell and Towns.
I disagree. I think Super Mario could be special.

We pretty much have what we need. That's why it's hard to imagine picking anything other than a backup center or moving up for anything.

We have enough wings we like and would like to see what we can do with them.

We have our starting bigs. There is no doubt about that.

Our point guards aren't the best at this point but are still way young and could develop. Therfore drafting a point guard doesn't make sense either.

Imo, it's gonna be something like Kaminsky or Turner, or we are trading out.

I personally wouldn't mind moving on from Burks, and trading up to get Mario or Winslow. I think we'd be better off. But on the other hand I'm willing to give Burks another shot too. Just not sure his defense will ever come around.
If only Burks had more value around the league.

Yeah, it's not even a discussion to me. I think Okafor would be a #2 in most drafts. Just don't think he is that great.

A benefit from trading Burks to move up and grab Mario is that we reset the clock on retaining the rights to an asset, and he's cheaper.

That's besides the idea that Mario could be a lot better than Burks.

I honestly don't know what to think about Burks. I use to be a huge fan, and was always defending him. But over time he hasn't really grown and improved. He's pretty much the same player. He's great at layups and that's about it. His shooting is eratic, and his defense is terrible. He seems like a guy who could be an all star. But maybe he just doesn't fulfill that potential. He has real concerning holes in his game. He still struggles with free throws for crying out loud.

Burks shot 82% from the FT line this past year....
