What's new

Gamethread: OKC Thunder @ Utah Jazz. 7PM MST.

Mitchell shooting .222% from the field 3 games in. Next DWade or Tyreke Evans? To me, he looked like a super star until the season started. Dude looks panic'd, forced, lost and undersized in 3 games to me. Good thing there are 79 to go.

He's a 21-year-old rookie who wasn't known for his shooting in college. But you can tell he has all the tools to become a great player. He can get into the paint at will, he sees the floor, he has great defensive instincts, he has great athleticism. About the one-foot jumping -- Stockton played his entire career below the rim, so I wouldn't worry so much about the one-foot jumping. You don't see Rubio playing above the rim. You don't have to be above the rim to score inside, you just have to be quick, and Mitchell is that and then some.

I've watched all 3 Jazz games and can't tell this. Sorry.
In the preseason I could, but not the regular season. You're lying if you say otherwise.

Look for me on the jumbo screen. I'll be the family of the game! Hopefully I'm still good luck...

Jazz never lose when I go to games... Just sayin if you want us to win more probably should just get me season tickets, lower bowl of course, preferably court side.

Cool. How bout Tyreke Evans?
Point is, Mitchell has been mediocre in 3 games at best.

He has been below average for an NBA player but I think he is playing great for a rookie. People have this weird expectation of rookies that is unreasonable. Rookies rarely help you win. You usually have to sacrifice to get them playing time. Mitchell might be a rare exception but he is still going to struggle at times.

It is nice to see that even though he has made a few bone headed plays and his shot is off he is finding ways to help out. He plays defense with intensity and makes plays for others.

I am glad Neto got some playing time tonight. Mitchell isnt a PG. Maybe he will become one but he just isnt right now. His position is SG. Neto is a better PG option right now.

Ingles dominated Paul George tonight and it made me very happy.

For some reason I sat next to a lot of OKC fans which made the evening even more enjoyable.

Trust me, we have different definitions for the word "great."

Rubio on his way to make me eat crow... I want bigger sample, but this might turn out to be an insane trade.

Great is probably the wrong word for how he has played but he has played solid for a young rookie. But that is still below average for an NBA player.

I like what I have seen in the regular season and my hope for him has risen.

He has at least 1 or 2 oh my moments every game.

I'm finding myself agreeing with naos on every jazz-related take so far this season and frankly it grosses me out

- most followable jazz team of my life as a fan (presuming Hood comes back strong, Dante comes back)
- ppl saying Donovan "can't shoot" are ****ing idiots. He looks fine. He's doing okay. There's a reason he was given the keys to start again

I have never been a Locke fan but I sat courtside and watched the warmups tonight and he came over multiple times and chit chatted. He was very friendly, funny and nice. Although I think it maybe had something to do with me sitting with 3 women but maybe he is a nice guy and I have been reading him wrong.

Looks good to me. Passes like a wizard, never stops running, plays defense on every possession... He's doing this on a back-to-back. If these guys traveled last night, I'm guessing they got home close to 4am.
