They believe some real bargains will be offered as teams scramble to get under the punitive 1.5-2X luxury tax. Utah is in perfect position to start a bidding war and demand a fortune. Essentially, taking on a $10M player at the deadline could save a team up to $25M (the remaining salary for 2014 + the 2x tax penalty). That's the kind of salary relief that could fetch not only a very good player, but also a lottery pick. We'll have around $25M for those types of deals, depending on how the Jazz fill out the roster.
