2011 draft.....

You should google Enes Kanter athlete.

In other news....

According to draftexpress Terrence Jones has not hired an agent. https://www.draftexpress.com/early-entry-list.php

He can still pull out of the draft until May 8th. Has anyone heard if he is for sure staying in the draft?

It hasn't be decided. Reading between the lines, Jones is seriously considering returning to Kentucky. Coach Calipari appears to encouraging him to leave as he is unlikely to ever have higher draft stock. Kentucky has a very highly regard draft class coming in.

Chad Ford has his first Mock Draft done and he has the Jazz drafting Knight and Burks:

Analysis: The Jazz acquired this pick in their February trade-deadline deal with the Nets. They lost their All-Star point guard Deron Williams in the deal but picked up this pick, Derrick Favors and Devin Harris in return. The Jazz like Harris but see Knight as a potential franchise player down the road.

Knight's freshman season was up and down, but he has a few qualities that make him a terrific fit in Utah. He is big, plays defense, shoots the ball well, and is a great kid on and off the court. He should be a perfect fit with the Jazz.

Analysis: The Jazz have traditionally lacked a scoring athletic slasher in the backcourt. It's been an acknowledged need for years. This might be the year that brings changes. Burks is one of the most athletic guards in the draft. He has a quick first step and is a terrific finisher at the rim. His lack of a consistent jump shot and motor lowers his stock a bit. But at this point in the draft, he's worth the risk.

That bit about affecting the game on the defensive end is the sole reason Biyombo will be picked ahead of at least one, if not all four of the Euro bigs. The Jazz need a LOT more help on the defensive end than the offensive end.

Kanter's body is far more like Zach Randolph and if he plays D like either him or Boozer then I might have to pass.

That said, he's first or second on my overseas bigs list.

I don't want the Jazz to draft this dude, but I like his interview a lot. I will be following him in the NBA. BTW, there's an espn insider article that showcases all the potential international 1st round picks. I'm really intrigued by a few of them, and I will not be disappointed if we get one.

A player on the basketball team at the college I work at was his teammate in Latvia. Said what the scouting report says that he is a lights out shooter, but just signed a contract with his team in Europe, but of course if he has a decent buyout still might be able to come over. If we get a late first round pick for some reason we would have to look at him.

That draft would excite me very much so. My biggest concern with it would be hayward's development. Would the additions of Knight and Burks eat into either Hayward's time and/or his touches? I doubt either would see that much time their first year (15mpg or so) but still, it would be a concern. Probably my only one really.

If KOC likes him, I'd say trade Bell to Minn for their #20 pick and take either him or Singleton.

Who the **** are you guys talking about. Archie referred to pronoun man and I've been lost since.

I probably should have asked the same question before I added my $.02, but from my deductive reasoning I concluded that they were talking about Bertans. If I'm wrong or mistaken, my bad.

Yes Bertans. Sounds like one of the best shooters in the draft.

Huge difference between a once in a lifetime injury and chronic injuries. Blake's injury happened after he had already been drafted during a pre-season NBA game. Whereas Kanter's injuries are chronic even before he's drafted.

Also, Blake is a freak athlete. He could lose half of his athleticism and still be the most athletic PF in the game today.

What about Kanter? I haven't read anywhere that he's a very good athlete.

A potential taller Kevin Love has no interest to you?

Valanciunas had a bittersweet 1 pt, 2 reb in 17 minutes performance today in the Lithuanian League Finals. Bitter because I was hoping a team ahead of us would bite on him, and sweet because if KOC was actually considering drafting Koufos 2.0 this should sway him away from making a big mistake.

But Valuncius had 23 points on 9/10 shooting with 8 rebounds in 23 minutes in his previous game. I doubt that last game will change the opinion of many nba execs who have been watching him for 2 or 3 years.

I don't think you understand. GM's are supposed to make rash decisions based on one game, it only makes sense.

//things this thread has taught me.

I think if anything, it will eat into Burks' development. If the Jazz is like what they have been in years, then seniority is consistent with playing time. I like Harris but he seems to get injured a lot and easily. If that is the case, Knight can get a lot of playing time and development opportunities.

I have to say that if we pick 6th then I am leaning towards Knight. I know a lot of people want Biyombo, but Knight seems like he would also be a great fit.

You may be right. But hell, as long as they don't re-sign AK, Burks would probably get some solid PT here and there.
