Hayward reportedly torn ..

Let us ponder-if the Jazz can't retain a skinny, white, straight, republican, from a fly-over state, with a wife and kids, just who are they ever going to retain?

I've been pondering this same question for a while now. We've done pretty much every major thing right by Hayward in the last 3 seasons. We gave him a coach that puts him in a position to succeed, we gave him a team to succeed with(surrounded him with players that complement him well), we helped develop him and raise his profile to a West All-star. + the things you list... If we cannot keep him, what chance in hell do we have to keep most other stars who are still not this family focused? This is horrible for small market teams.

This is another reason I think if we cannot keep him, I think it's probably best to just tank the **** out of it. HYPER TANK. Hinkie 2.0. Try to get as many stars as possible and get them on the same timeline so you can build them up during their rookie contracts and hope they get good enough to give you 3-4 years of legit contention on their second contracts.

im sure his wife doesn't wana be in Utah.

hayward could give a **** less. All he does is play video games in his spare time.

If he wants to walk away from more money, the team he had a huge roll in building, and being the #1 guy then see ya.

Hate to lose an all star, but Ive always questioned his toughness and leadership.

Meh, sounds to me like he's probably leaving, but he wants us all to know that he feels willy, willy bad about it cuz he loves us guys.

Son of a bitch.

<just Cappy, going through the 8th stage of greif>
If he leaves then I will hate him with a passion.
I know it's petty. Don't give a **** though, I'm gonna be pissed.

I still think he stays though.

Rumors out of Boston today that Celtics and Indiana may have the rough framework for a Paul George deal with a 3+ year extension in place, but it's contingent on them signing Hayward in free agency.

Not quite sure what to make of that, or how they'd work out the money against the cap.

This sounds like bullcrap. Stuff like this makes me even more confident that Hayward isn't going anywhere. "Yep, we would have had an Eastern Conference superteam, but that darn Hayward!"

Agree... I don't know how that wouldn't be circumvention and if they had permission to talk to his agent woj would report it.

Here's the reporter bringing it up, for those interested:

I could totally see this being a possibility. We all know that players in the league talk to each other and coordinate things behind the scenes. It's the new NBA. I'm not saying it is true, just saying it would make sense. But a possible deal like this is why I think DL needs to show everyone just how big his reproductive boys are. If there is any way he can pry Lillard away from POR, I think that's the move he needs to make.

If this is true Jazz should get very aggressive going after George. If he willing to sign an extension than Jazz could build a better team around George, Hayward and Gobert. We could even get Hill which is a player George likes.

This report is 1000% false by the way... an extension this year for PG would cause him to lose $21M over 3 years... just waiting he would make that... add in that he could get two extra years and the $$$ don't line up...

Fake news... check out Ben Dowsett's twitter timeline... pure garbage out of Boston... again. I sure hope they don't get Hayward... they the worst.

I would bet it is a leak from the Pacer organizatiom designed to drive up the trade value of Paul George. If he would sign an extension with the Celtics, why not someone else?

It is false... it would be an absolutly stupid financial move and he would give up on his primary target to do so... STFU Boston... yo team is ***.

Also IT has a serious hip injury he hasn't made a decision on surgery yet... If Hayward goes to Boston to play with gimpy IT he is not smart.

I'm in full pissed off mode. I'm done with Boston... eff these a-holes.

What do you want to bet IT is deferring his decision on hip surgery until after July 1... can some Utah people start some fake news like Boston does... can we get some god damned help here. Checketts where you at... give us some sauces... someone start saying some ****.

Lies. All lies. George already said he wouldn't consider talking extension with anyone other than LA. George & Hayward isn't going to happen. Celtics fans and media just doesn't realize it yet. It would take them gutting the majority of their team to acquire both. And acquiring both would be pointless when they are committed to Tatum. And they ARE committed to Tatum. They turned down #3 for Jimmy Butler straight up. They are going to try and get George OR Hayward. And Hayward is gonna stay with the Jazz. Can't wait to watch the Boston meltdown
