You try to disguise an insult to the intelligence of a group of people by paralleling an innocent joke that is offensive to no one.
Offensive. Unnecessary. Rude. Neg repped.
My opinion is that political correctness sucks, so I'm on the opposite end of this spectrum from you. I was being sarcastic when I suggested that it would be offensive if it was the other way around, but that might have gotten lost in translation. I'm sick and tired of people who are always looking for something to be offended about, or even worse, for something that they think some group they don't even belong to ought to get offended about.
I know it's a joke, but to me comments like this are rarely, if ever, appropriate. These comments just perpetuate and reinforce a stereotype. Just because that stereotype is about the majority (instead of a minority) doesn't make it appropriate.

I find it offensive that you think I'm a mormon... oh, that says moron, doesn't it. Damn. That's a pretty insightful comment....for a moron. (I hope everyone can interpret the sarcasm here).
The best defense is a good offense. You broke the number one rule of offense. You never get to say what is or isn't offensive to someone else. Ever.
i never like the excuse that something is okay because of the position of the speaker in relation to the object of the accusation. Groups size does not make right or wrong. And group size is always relative. With a little creativity a person could find a group in which Hayward is in the minority and Durant n the majority. Far better to avoid such limiting clauses in your speech. That shouldn't be hard to do, even for Jazzfanz.
This. Black guys are allowed jokes about race.It was a joke. We should laugh.
Now, if it had been a white guy making a joke about a black guy of course that would be an entirely different matter.
Great postMy opinion is that political correctness sucks, so I'm on the opposite end of this spectrum from you. LolFor the record, I'm a white guy, and I'm not very athletic. At all. I sure like sports, though. And documentaries, indie music, hiking, and lattes. All true.
So he was insulted by being complimented and even though it was a joke we get to be collectively offended instead (hooray!) because we've successfully defined him as a minority which means he is obviously in need of majority protection... and in the NBA the fans are the majority by a wide margin (unless you consider the world's non-fans to be a part of this system and in that case the fans are again a minority) but since the non-fans by definition don't even care about all the problems we are discovering here, not only doesn't their non-opinion of the matter not matter because they don't even know it exists, but we also get to be offended by their inaction since, as the majority, they ought to be doing something about it.In the NBA, Hayward is a minority.
If Gordon and Kevin were good friends
