Offseason Random Twitter Comments about Jazz Players

I hope this helps you understand that Al does not need to do a SERIOUS amount of adapting

I think I understand where we might have been miscommunicating.
My point was that IF Al continues to be used the way he has been used since being in Utah, THEN he needs to do a serious amount of adapting.

You are saying not to use him the same way. <-- I would agree with that, but my hypothetical asks a different question.

dal, i love that your example of al adapting is a video of jefferson standing to the side and watching while paul does things that aren't even remotely close to his skill-set.

if that's "adapting," then yes, i'd like him to adapt more.

Just becasue he has a bigger problem does not mean he should put everything else on the back burner.

Honestly, you cant harp on Al for not using 'good shooters' efficiently, like our starting SF's 24% 3PP.

The purpose of that video was to show how little one SOMETIMES has to adapt when touches are being given to other players. Not sure what you're trying to say here.

Kewl.

what i'm trying to say is that al isn't adapting in those clips, he's watching. and that's fine with me, he should continue to watch while millsap and favors do things he can't. but if he's gonna watch, i'd prefer he not take up space on the court while he does so. he can watch from the bench, or better yet, from his TV in the hotel while he and the raptors have a night off in between road games.

I didn't mean that as a harp on Al. Just a way Al can improve his game that will coincidentally affect the shooters. Using the shooters efficiently is a thing that falls on Corbins shoulders.

You mean 'clip'. I'm sure there are plenty of clips that would prove the contrary

well either way... i want more of what that video showed: the jazz giving the ball to their most versatile offensive player and al fist-pumping after the shot goes in.

This talk about Al's assist number is a little ridiculous. I'm just hoping that he passes out of the double/triple team more often to an open player. If that player then passes it to another open player (passing around the perimeter) who then makes the open shot, to me that's even better than Al getting an assist.

Update and bump:

Just got done doing some Pilates @HifiFitness. My summer workouts have been awesome! Ready for a great season baby!

This is just not fair for a 6'11" guy.

man, he's just ripped, isn't he? if that strength can start to manifest itself on the basketball court, then i think we'll all start feeling better about using a top-3 pick on this kid.

I knew Kanter was strong but holy crap. He is ripped. He could put a serious hurt on someone.

But can he get a shot off? It's going to take more than that raw up and under move he went to every time in the SL.

Oh I agree. I was merely commenting on his build. He will need more than strength to make it in the NBA.
