Jazz front runner for Conley

If Utah somehow swings a deal involving those currently under contract that aren't expiring, they could still open up enough for a max slot. I don't see it happening though as we'll be giving up players we don't want to see go. Something like 23, Ingles, Exum, and Korver/Crowder works while still giving the Jazz to release Favors, Rubio, Thabo, and Ekpe to open up the max slot.

I think you're right. I stand corrected. I think they could technically do it with Exum, Korver, and Crowder (before July 1, per Andy Larsen). And that would keep the ability to open up FA space in play, or to retain Favors if we didn't like the FA landscape.

I don't know if that's attractive to Memphis. (Frankly, I'm not sure why anything we're offering would be attractive to them. Our assets and their needs just don't seem to match up great.)

The masses here would beg to differ. Rookie account and G league knowledge lol. See their responses to your stupid responses ? See the likes on mine ?

Yep ... Lol welcome to the board you have so much to learn. Buy league pass and take notes.

I didn’t notice. I’m not a teenage girl chasing likes around the Internet. Get a life.

Would have to guarantee Korvers deal... I think you’d have to put a little more salary in the deal... not sure why Memphis would prefer korvers salary to cap space... put Exum, Bradley, Favs in the deal or waive Favs and give space.... would be my preference.

Good read from a Memphis perspective. https://dailymemphian.com/section/s...this-the-week-the-Grizzlies-trade-Mike-Conley

Orlando and Detroit just make so much sense to me. They have better picks, better tangible expirings, and are desperate for a floor general.

We are not in a good position for any kind of trade talks at all right now. The best package we can possibly put together can be easily outmatched by other teams should they decide to join the chase
So just sign somebody of value in free agency then come back mid season

Does anyone dare posit the chance that Favors bolts after all of this anyway? That would sure make all of this non-sense even stupider.

People who are hyper focused on salary are doing it wrong. The years on the contract and how they fit our core is what matters. And the 2 years on Conley's deal fit perfectly.

Also if 32 is ancient then I might as well just go slit my wrists lol. Guess the Lakers should go trade LeBron for a bucket of fried chicken. It will give them more value cuz at 34 there's just no way he could be useful.

You know we had this one guy on the Jazz a while back who won a freaking NBA MVP at 33 and a second at 35. But I guess we should have just dumped him for some picks when he turned 32. Those picks could be anything! They are way more valuable! They could even be nothing.
Karl was never injured and physical freak. Conley has had several injuries. The real problem for me is getting rid of picks which weakens are bench and makes it more difficult to find a diamond in the rough.

Problem is, do the jazz go conley or gamble and wait on DLO.

Its easy to see which decision would make the most sense.

Conley is battle tested bit old, but he has damn skill...an exponentially better PG than rubio. An absolutely amazing floor general.

Mfers wana call conley old but claim LBJ is still young and in his prime, 3 years older than conley.

Conley is a beast, the fact he kept that team competitive with the *** roster they had is amazing.

My worry is of course maybe he is injury prone, if he can stay healthy 100% hed be a damn fine a damn fine addition to this team.

DLO would he good too but do we gamble?

That’s the only scenario Favors leaves the Jazz? Pardon me, especially if I’m misunderstanding, but that is ****ing stupid if you believe that.

Question was if anyone saw a way Favors bolts after this. For this next season, the only way he leaves is via trade or if we don't pick up his TO. That's just fact.

There is some buzz that D'Lo is planning to go to Phoenix. It's not just David Locke saying that. Donovan and the Jazz would know if they're really in the mix for him. If they're not, then it's a non-issue. Also, if Kemba doesn't go to NY, it's possible that D'Lo would stay in NY and play for the Knicks instead of the Nets.
