Added to Calendar: 04-21-22

Well, if you could answer my question, I would answer yours.
Well I just went and looked at the play by play and you are simply wrong. You said they called a timeout and calmed down and started to gain ground again.
According to the play by play they called a timeout at 5:33 left in the third when the jazz were down 83-66.
The next time Dallas called a timeout was at 8:55 in the 4th quarter with the jazz down 101-97.

Ya they attacked Mitchell when they had the lineup I liked out there. But guess what? Jazz outscored them big time. And that matters. See, when Conley, royce and gobert are out there with Mitchell then instead of simply attacking Mitchell they also get to attack Conley and find goberts man for open three's and attack Royce while also not having to worry about gobert and Royce on the other end.
Check the play by play. Small ball was working fantastically when Royce and Conley were not a part of it. Dallas didn't gain ground. The jazz gained ground.

There is only 2 options on my opinion :

- Trade Rudy and go for all offense ( as the Bucks try before). Hoping to score 130 every night to win. Don will be great in such a scheme.
- Trade Don, ( and other) and get good defenders for a GnG area. But Rudy is getting old and his defense will be down as well.

I do believe the first option may be the best. Trade Rudy, Mike,..... O Neal ( against a washing machine?) and see what we can get.

Last option may be to trade Don, Rudy and lot of others players. But rebuild may take few years...

We literally were able to do whatever we wanted to offensively with Rudy out of the paint. That is the biggest takeaway for me. We can’t guard them with or without Rudy so may as well try to outscore them which we did we were +13 without him.

Exactly. Hekate is like "but they would attack Mitchell if we keep playing that way like on those 2 plays when dinwiddie torched him"
Well sure they would. They will attack our poor defenders no matter what but when we had that lineup out there we attacked them even better than they attacked us. We were awesome during they stretch. That entire stretch. He seems to think the Mavs called a timeout and figured us out and started building the lead up again. That didn't happen though.

We actually kept the small ball lineup in for few minutes into the 4th quarter.

Cut it down to 4:

Paschall missed a 3 that would have cut it to 1 and then Conley missed a 3 that would have cut it to 1.

Then they called a timeout at 8:55.

Rudy comes in the game.

We cut it down to 1 and then Bogey has a 3 to tie it and misses. Then we go down 5 and Bogey misses another 3 to cut it to 2 then Conley misses a 3 to cut it to 2 then Brunson scores and we go down 7.

From 5:33 left in the 3rd to 8:55 left in the 4th, effectively 8 minutes and 38 seconds of actual game time we outscored them 31-18.

I don’t know that’s a long period of time to outplay a team.

Are we really paying Mike Conley >$20mm until 2024, at which point he'll be 36 in his final season with us? Who is going to take on that albatross of a contract? What the hell were we thinking?

Bogey's contract is somewhat more favorable, as it is expiring... I'll never understand why Lindsay went all in on undersized, unathletic vets over young, lengthy, athletic players to align with Don's timeline. This will be looked upon as the biggest "what-if" teams in franchise history. At least with the John & Karl / D-Will teams we were beaten by the GOAT and by Kobe... this team was beaten by the Nuggets, Kawhi-less Clippers, and now Doncic-less Mavs. LMAO

I’m old enough to remember when people thought we’d sweep and thought there was no way a Luka less team could score enough. I swear people forgot what our playoff defense looked like. Luka ain’t even gonna play and we gonna lose.

DM, JC, HOUSE and PASCHALL on the court at the same time was fire. This with Conley, Royce and Bogey rotating in. We can't have Royce and Conley in at the same time.

Yep, and look, it might not be fire next time. I don't know if it's a long term lineup solution or not. But tonight it was awesome and we should have tried using it to close the game. What we did use didn't work so with hindsight is extremely obvious we should used it to close the game. Even in the moment, without hindsight, many of us thought it was the way to go. Knowing the outcome and seeing the game in it's entirety we KNOW that it is the lineup that should have been in at the end.

I’d much rather be wrong about us doing good than be right about us sucking. Not a great victory lap to be taking.

It’s truly amazing the amount of injury luck we are getting this go around and the guys are like “ **** that we don’t like playing hard” this is about as good of an opportunity as these softies will ever get.

Can’t find it in the thread. Was the House temper tantrum covered on TV? It was on the bench around the start of the 4th quarter. I was upper bowl and couldn’t tell but seemed like he was going off and Mitchell ? was trying to calm him?
