2023 NBA Draft Megathread

If Bufkin was a freshman (he is freshman aged) would we hesitate to put him next to Black/Wallace?

I’m still hesitant to put him with them, but I can’t put my finger on why.
I don't think you can ignore the advantage of playing in college last year vs High School, so it's not just about age. I also think that Bufkin is good at everything, but not great at anything except maybe rim finishing, where I doubt he is as successful in the NBA. His role in the NBA is also a little murkier.

All that said, I think he is right there and wouldn't be crazy to rank him as high or higher than those guys.

I assume when he's wearing #3 he's playing in the French Jr. League and when he is wearing #0 he's in the senior league?

Man that Jr. League looks pretty bad, like worse than OTE bad.
Of course it's worse than OTE. OTE is some of the highest ranked amateurs in the USA. These are random French kids who are OK at basketball.

Some people think that Ausar cancelling his workout with IND at #7 means he's guaranteed top 6....but what if he wants to fall to 8 or 9? Just a thought. IIRC after Haliburton missed his initial range it seemed like he forced his way all the way to SAC and that's why he dropped so far.

It might mean if he isn’t picked top-6 he’d rather not go to Indiana at 7. I wouldn’t want to go to Washington though. 9/10 is definitely a better situation for him.

WTF you talking about? Totally fine interview. Appears to be a good kid. I saw nothing wrong with it. Maybe you are the awkward one.
He’s just a kid trying to give the right answers… word around the G league is he’s a very hard worker and picks things up fast… his improvement from one year ago is crazy… he may never be the worlds best orator though.
