2023 NBA Free Agency Thread

Kinda feel like that is gonna end up like the Herro contract, probably a slight overpay for what you get, but not an albatross. I'd rather have that than the FVV contract by a mile though. . .
He plays defense and initiates offense. He’s a better player on a cheaper contract. It’s a good deal. They got rid of the player they should’ve to keep the player they should’ve.

What the **** lol. That pick swap could be extremely valuable.
Extremely? Probably not. And we don’t know how high those 2nds will be. If they’re top-40 then they’re almost 1sts.

But to be clear, this is a GREAT way to turn extra 2nds into something more useful (more useful because it trades superfluous quantity for additional quality).

We light seconds on fire. Why aren’t we doing this with them?
Well, we don’t have them, for starters.

Front offices have been incredibly uncreative until recently and stuff like that requires at least two willing parties.

Yeah, probably not extremely since it involves the lesser of their pick and the Wizards (didn’t say that at first) but for a couple of seconds it’s well worth it.

I kinda wish NBA teams only owned swaps. Would end tanking….well, there’s still not a great incentive to compete every night and win but there would be no incentive to lose on purpose. It would be liberating if half the teams in the league weren’t in a dilemma where winning might be worse for the franchise.
