David Aldridge: Jazz come to terms with Jamaal Tinsley

Problem is, Harris usually misses 10-15 games per season. So the backup PG spot is a lot more important than we think.
Even more important when the time to miss 15 games in a normal season will cover 18-20 games with the compressed schedule, and 15-20 games is a quarter to a third of the season.

You are clueless to the English language. Accept.

All I'm saying is let's wait for the specifics to come out about the deal. Also, wait until the guy actually plays before we all judge him.
It's an odd experience to read a thread where Cyrone is the voice of reason, but I've got to rep him for his contribution to this discussion.

My interpretation is that Tinsley but Keith coming to camp means that Ronnie is not coming back. Hopefully we still sign Earl.

Hahaha! Too funny!

What is that? axel greese in your hair? Cute!

What a tool. Whines about staying on topic then makes 8 (or so)more posts that are not on topic.

As for the topic. This is meh for me. If it is unguaranteed or for 1 year then not so bad as I don't expect to win very much anyway. I am still hoping for Watson. More than anything I'd rather have Tinsley than Price. As someone else said Price has no PG skills. At least Tinsley can pass.

I would rather they had gone with a young 3rd PG. But I don't know if their are any out there due to the lockout.

BOOM. ROASTED. I think I'm going to have to sign up under a new screen name.

PS - That's not my girlfriend tough guy. Here is even a recent picture of me and my boys from last weekend! This is the tail we be bangin'! That's me on the left with my girl in center!

The two girls on the right are pretty cute, but each is not half the woman your girl is.

'Redemption' is the exception, not the rule. I know the kind of influence Tinsley has been, and I know I cheer for a team full of kids. Got a problem with my problem?

The only problem I have is that you came across as judgmental? I stand by my post that you nor I have any idea if Tinsley can still play. Personally, I do not care what he did in the past. So you think that Tinsley is going to make Hayward start to go to strip clubs? I cheer for the whole Jazz team. So do you have a problem with that problem. LOL.

John Hollinger was giving thumbs up or down on the wave of signings and he gave the Tinsley signing a thumbs down and wrote:

Tinsley played 38 games for Memphis in 2009-10 and was brutally awful; that's the last we've seen of him, as he wasn't in the league last season. The Jazz were desperate for a backup point guard, but this desperate? Sheesh. I'll change my tune if the money isn't guaranteed, but it appears they've signed him to be the backup point guard. Given how often Devin Harris is injured, they needed to do better than this.

Hopefully he is more of a camp invite than a band aid. If he's a band aid, he's a previously used, no adhesive, still has the scab attached band aid.

That is one nasty band aid.

KOC made a great move to unload duron and getting pieces....

However, going after Tinsley is one of those HUH moves.

Why?

To me, there's little reward and a whole lot of potential for this to end up ugly IMO....

Crappy attitude aside, is he really that much better than Earl?

This is just stupid. Forget Tinsley, resign Earl. Harris and Earl can man the point for another few years until we find ourselves another one.

Maybe he'll be the 3rd string one?

But again, is he really that much better than Ronnie Price?

Read the posts about Watson going to Atlanta this probably has a lot to do with Tinsley's signing. Not saying it is still not a head scratcher.

If the argument that Tinsley is better than Price is because - despite having a body that has been rapidly declining, has an atrocious off-the-court history, never having been good to begin with, and never having been a good shooter to take the edge off of his inability to beat anyone - Tinsley is the better pure PG, then let's just go back and re-sign Stockton.

No amount of an ability to pass can make up for a guy that can't shoot and can't beat anybody (which probably means he also can't defend anybody either). Grab Kevin Kruger. At least he can shoot and isn't a turd. Or Jaycee Carroll. Or Ronnie Price. Or Kyle Weaver.

The only hope I have that this isn't actually a significant step in the wrong direction (hiring a hustler to babysit) is that Tinsley's deal is unguaranteed so he HAS to live in fear that one wrong move and he's gone. AND that he could be gone that fast if it came down to it.

Curious that the Jazz never seemed to pursue this idea with a player that could physically still play like Sean Williams. Oh well.

Just give me Sundiata over Price or Tinsley. Or did he end up with the Wolves? .... Nevermind- multi-year contract with the Nets (and a fractured hip). Though he recovered enough to play overseas during the lockout in Georgia.

I know I wasn't happy when I read this, I remembered him for his "sketchy" past but once I read he may have been "rehabilitating" in the NBDL and may have supposedly improved his attitude I will remain cautiously optimistic. Of course like many I'm wanting to know the contract details and see if Watson is able to comeback and if he is then I like this signing, with so many games in so few nights having depth at the PG IMO is very important.

*edit* Also meant to add that with the Jazz' and KOC's conservative history with players with sketchy past I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.... for now.

I hope you aren't serious. Gaines struggled to bring the ball up the court half the time.
