Following Potential 2025 Draftees

So what about this idea
If Jazz don't get the #1 or #2 pick would you be willing to trade 3,4,5 to Nets for #6 and #19 pick?
Jazz may still get the guy they want at #6 and also move up a couple spots for another guy they want
I personally wouldn't, but it just depends on tiers. Jazz have so much quantity and not enough quality that I don't think this is the direction I'd like the FO to go either.

i'm pretty close, but i think there is a cooper tier, a dylan tier, an ace tier, then probably 4-7 tier with fears, vj, kon and tre. i just don't think there is any chance the jazz pass on ace if they draft 3rd.
I think Kon and Tre have separated a bit from Fears and guys like Kas for me.

If I had to pick one guy outside of Dylan and Coop that will definitely be considered a top 5 guy in this draft… I think I’d pick Kon. I just don’t see him becoming much worse than a good starter. I think he is the “low upside” trap player that some will put a ceiling on because he’s not really long or athletic and a lot of the “upside” is between the ears. Like some of the narrative around like Haliburton (tho there were other indicators there).

I’m not sure what to do with Fears because I’ve fallen for that type before and ended up sad.

I’d want something better but depends on if we are 3, 4, or 5. Maybe if we were 5 and it’s Tre or Kon.

At 3 I’d want like the 2028 clips pick the sixers own or the Heat pick the Hornets own… or a maybe like Toronto would give their own 2026 pick unprotected.

I think a compelling part of Kon's case is that he was a much more high usage scorer before Duke. It could be that the lack of athleticism caught up to him, but it could also be that he played on an incredibly stacked team that didn't allow for him to be higher usage guy. "Low" usage guys turn into higher one's more than you think at the next level. Kon has a lot of the signs of someone that could do more in the NBA than he did in college.

Fears to me is in a class of player that if they fall to the late lotto, try to trade up to get him if the price is reasonable (Donovan special). I think he’s got really interesting indicators and his film pops hard.

That point about him not being able to beat anyone off the dribble really seems like a killer weakness. I see some value in him as a spot up shooter---but don't really think you're looking to draft another Buddy Hield or Luke Kennard in the top 5 or even first half of the lottery.

Buddy Hield with a supremely high care factor and a high level processor is a pretty great player tbh.

I want to see the measurements on Kon but I think he's much closer to Bane than Hield/Kennard.

No. The Jazz would pick their favorite player available in the 3-5 range. The #19 pick isn't valuable enough to make a trade like that. If they could get like #6 and #11, then it might be worth considering, but the Jazz would need to really love a guy they think will be there at #11. For example, the Jazz walk away with Fears/Kon and Murray-Boyles.

Otherwise, the Jazz could package their 2nd-round picks or take back an iffy contract to move up a few spots from #21.

The Kon love here is totally bizarre. The way people are talking themselves into liking him in the top 5 or something is like watching a slow motion car crash.

I mean, looking at these takes, we seem to be at a point where Kon was somehow limited by the presence of Cooper Flagg and the other real future NBA players on his team. Give me a F'n break. Flagg has already made Knueppel millions of dollars, never mind what happens in the draft. Getting to play the 4th option on this Duke team was the greatest thing that ever happened to Kon. Unlimited open shots, unlimited drives against closeouts because the defense had better players to worry about on the strong side.

As for being a "high usage guy" in HS... every pretty decent D1 college scorer was an unstoppable force there. It doesn't mean anything.

Kon's NBA ceiling is a much less athletic Max Strus. You don't pick those guys in the top 15.

I'm praying we'll take VJ so this nightmare can be over
