What's new

Jazz vs. Charlotte Whorenets Saturday 12/21 3:00 PM game time

I reckon this starting five, Favors and another scorer off the bench would be red hot.

Who can we convince to trade for Derrick and then release him so that we can pick him up? Who's silly enough to do this?

Emmanuel Mudiay:

12 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, only one turnover, +5. A completely positive player not just today, but over the season.

This is the type of performance you praise from top to bottom. I'm so damn proud of what this dude is doing right now, compared to the rest previous seasons.
He is having a break out season. Gonna earn a decent contact from someone

He's changing my outlook that I've created for him, from his past history. Its still only a quarter of the season, but things are certainly looking good at the moment. Will be interesting to see whether we actually offer him that decent contract you mentioned. How high would we go for him.

I don't think we would go high enough. I think he will be elsewhere next year.

Rudy is averaging 16.8 points, 16.4 rebs, 2 blocks, shooting 65 percent in the last 5 games. For somebody who is classified as having no offensive game, that's pretty damn impressive.

Have you guys listened to Quin during the games? It's all Rudy. You can hear Quin yelling Rudy's name so much, you would think Quin has a high school crush on him.

Sorry to be disagreeable but Davis and green only grab the boards that fall in their lap. I haven’t seen either one of them get a hustle rebound all season so I don’t think your theory would work.

Davis has to outfight 3 or 4 opposing players for a rebound because Green/Niang just don't or can't.

What I'm saying is that Bradley can rebound. And he's a BIG body. With him in the game Davis would be able to roam more freely on the glass.

A dude who despite shooting 3/3 for 3pt FG is still an overall complete liability does not belong on the floor. He’s garbage

Say's the guy that goes by "Douchbag" LOL. So are you taking the "it takes one to know one" approach, or are you assuming to know more than the coaching staff?

Rudy da God.

If he weren't on the team we would suck more than losing any other player would make us suck.

So consistent too. You can just mark it down that he will get a double double and be the best defensive player on the court.

Yep, totally agree with this. I love Don and Bogey, but I feel as though we would feel the impact of Rudy not playing more than if Donovan was to miss time.

Rudy Gobert is my complete and utter safety blanket. If he was to miss time(knock on wood he doesnt) I'd feel naked. And nobody wants that.

It's not just +/-. Niang is a poor rebounder, a poor defender, doesn't impact the game with steals/blocks/deflections. He's smart and he's a sniper. He's a specialist. But our bench around him isn't good enough for us to afford having a specialist on the floor.

Green doesn't rebound well. He doesn't get steals/blocks/deflections. His defense comes and goes.

When you have Niang next to Green it's disaster. But we have to have Green on the floor because Green is one of our few bench pieces who can get hot and go for 15-20 points on a given night and that's a huge boost for us when it happens

Disagree. Per 36 career his numbers are surprisingly similar to O'Neale's only a better scorer. Better scorer, blocks and boards than Ingles per 36 career. And as you say, he's smart and knows how to read the defense:

nah ReleaseTheCrackho i have eyes and observe what little else he offers other than good 3 point shooting. btw did your profile name come from your campaign to get your Mum out of jail ??

The Jazz wouldn't make the playoffs if we didn't have Rudy. This game it was so obvious that Rudy took over defensively down the stretch. He had Charlotte players shaking their heads. Jazz need to keep winning so they can't keep him off the All-star team this year.

So let’s leave me “mum” out of this, Douchebag, k? Another characteristic “trashy” thing to say about somebody. Some things are kinda off limits, but calling you by your chosen monicker is not one of them.
