Rep vs Likes vs None

I HATE getting notifications for likes. I don't hate that you can like a post.. makes no difference to me.
However, I detest having to look in notifications every 5 minutes just to clear out the likes. I would ignore it, but I also communicate often through PM and I would miss those if I ignored the other.

What does everyone else think about turning off the link between likes and notifications??

Settings
-> "DBTech - Post Thanks Settings" (bottom left hand side of page)
-> "Disable Notifications" (check the box)

I have fallen out of like with the like system. Wouldn't be so bad if there were no notifications. But I'm just not digging it either way.

I hate the notifications. And I must admit I'm a bit jealous now. I thought I had a new best friend in Hack. Turns out he's just been liking on everyone.

I think rep is stupid. Posts should garner attention, not posters. Rep creates cliques and rewards people with nothing better to do than post stupid posts all day long.

My vote would be for a system where you "liked" a post and the cumulative number of "likes" and "dislikes" is shown.

Then for those who like to feel good about themselves, you could click on their profile and see their cumulative "like" number. That way, again, posts are ranked because they have good content and not because you are fishing for rep.
