Ricky Rubio or George Hill?

I love Rubio. Give me the younger, better Rubio for less money every damn day.

Is he a good shooter? No. Is he a bad shooter? Maybe not! We're gonna look at some stats...small sample size, but worth it I think.

Zach LaVine has been a negative for Rubio. He just messes with his game, mainly bc LaVine is a dumb player, but also bc he takes Rubio's spots.

So, Rubio post LaVine shot a little under 42% from the field (not good) but also about 36% from 3 (good!). Averaged 16/10/5 btw. Is it possible as Rubio hits his prime his shooting has improved? I think so. But he's so much closer more than shooting. He's an offensive savant. The guy flat out makes his team better. Incredible passer, incredibly smart player, so even with poor shooting he's a positive offensive player. If he improves his shooting? Top 10 PG easily. Plus look at how he leads fast breaks!! We need that.

Defensively he's better than Hill. Perhaps not as versatile, but better overall. He's just a better player than Hill overall.

Now I can see why some would think this is a waste of an asset we used a 1st to acquire. Look, as long as we keep Hayward then it was a worthy trade. Flat out if we don't have Hill this year, we lose Hayward. That's my argument at least.

Anyways, I love Rubio. He's a stud.

Wow. Look at this guy saying that Rubio may actually be closer to his 2nd half splits shooting wise of the 2017 season. 42/36/92...think he needed up at 42/35/87 this year.

I'm amazing.

Trading for Rubio was one of the most underrated moves this past offseason. With PG13, CP3 and Butler all getting traded to western conference playoff teams, plus Hayward jumping to Boston. . . everyone kind of overlooked Rubio. He’s making teams pay for that mistake and rewarding Quin’s faith in him.

I was a doubter, but I’ve eaten so much crow I choked on it. I won’t doubt Ricky again. Hope he becomes our version of Chauncey Billups.

George Hill and Rubio might be the clearest pieces of evidence that support Quin's capacity for player development.

I still expect him to miss every shot ... (except corner threes - I actually believe in that shot now).

Man, I remember a thread from Cy about a year ago where he pondered whether Rubio could become an elite corner 3 point shooter. Sometimes Cy has the cheatcode...

Rubio continuará creciendo en el Jazz; en este equipo se convertirá en el jugador que muchos predijeron que llegaría a ser. Continuará aumentando sus beneficios y se consolidará como uno de los mejores bases de la NBA. El Jazz acertó en su elección.

I think they would. With how DM has proven that he can be the primary scorer during his rookie season we are only a few pieces away from being dominate in the west. When Gorbert gets healthy again and we move a few pieces to get a reliable stretch four and a reliable offensive option off the bench then Rubio's shooting struggles are covered up. Give this team 2 years to gell more, switch a few things up and continue developing DM and Rudys offence and the Jazz trade for Ricky every time its offered.

His creativity, defense, and leadership are why the Jazz picked him up. They are going to have Rubio mentor Exum being that there play style is very similar.

Jan 11. Sir, you are a visionary.

I'm really hoping no one bumps posts where I lamented having Rubio and miss Hill... I don't know that they are out there, but I think there are some that would look pretty bad.

Rubio has been an effing roller coaster and I'm emotionally unstable when it comes to the Jazz... I apologize to Ricky and his family (again not sure there are bad posts, but if there are)

My apologies to Jazzta also.

I also think Ricky can be the poster child for any underappreciated, flawed player thinking about where to go.

Bring us your substitute math teachers and unappreciated non-shooters... we will turn them into Joe Ingles and Rick Curry. Trey Lylesy guys need not apply.

Rubio > George big toe Hill

George Hill is the poster child for what happens when we help you become amaze balls and you leave (I think it was our choice... so not hating).

Our coaching and development staff will have a room filled with poster childs... there will be the Joe Ingles wall and the Trey Lyles wall... you decide which wall you want to be on.
