What's new

Game 2 - Jazz at Suns - 11/1/13 @8:00 PM Mountain Time - Root Sports, 1280/97.5 The Zone

I don't feel like Enes is 100%. Something's wrong. Don't know if it's fatigue, confidence, or injury but he hasn't been 100% for a few games back now.
It's a credit to him that he somehow wound up with 20 and 12 though. I mean wow.

He had some good moves but is only 80% right now due to being out of shape. He will be doing 20 and 12 on better efficiency 2 months from now.

The only worry of mine re: Kanter is his D. Which was very bad tonight. But I'm hoping that's another residual symptom of his injury and rehab

Burks getting less than 30 minutes a night is laughable when our other backcourt options are Tinsley and Lucas. Corbin really might be retarded.

I did see the sort of Kanter on the block featuring offensive sets that I'd be clammoring for. He didn't capitalize on all, or maybe on half even, but it's good cuz that's going to be his bread and butter

Ok I'm going to criticize corbin.

Why are we chucking the ball around the perimeter when we are strongest inside. He should be going to kanter or favors in the low post most of the time and have different guys cut on the weak side. I really think that corbins new hot potato offense is contributing to these turnovers.

you need strong passing bigs to really dominate that style and i dont think kanter is ready to do that

Season averages (yes it's only two games)

Favors 14.5 ppg, 13rpg, 4.5 apg
Kanter 17ppg, 11rpg
Hayward 15ppg, 7rpg, 6apg
Burks 19.5ppg, 4rpg, 4apg

The Jazz don't have great go-to scorers. The core-4 guys are good, but none of them are All Stars offensively just yet.

When Kanter gets in shape, he will drop monstrous numbers with high efficiency... I think the core has to grow as a team and learn to play with each other, on the most efficient way. Besides that Kanter is a bit out of shape and his playing routine, all the guys dropped very good numbers. I think we will get more efficient soon.

But our biggest Problem is, that we also has no bench.

P.S

looking at my posts ? 666 BIG-AL conspiracy ?

just realized that we are on a 9 game losing streak, and yet i am still excited for the next game

I would rather watch him struggle with turnovers in the low post so that he can develop a passing skill set than watch the ball circle the perimeter get turned over anyway and kanter doesn't develop it.

Favors blocks are the only thing down, but probably a necessity to stay out of foul trouble.

It's hard to criticize the team when we are not really built to win this year, but man our bench is bad.

On a positive note, we are winning the Tanking battle since Orlando, Philadelphia, and Phoenix all have Ws.

Anyone think Hayward (or his teamates) gets tired of him being the man at crunch time?

John Lucas is the best thing to happen for Trey Burke. Without playing a game Trey is getting better and better in everyones eyes.

Kanter is not right. Im not sure if it is physical or mental or..... maybe this is what it looks like when a player who hasn't really played in 3 years tries to come back from an injury while playing twice as many minutes as he did before.

I think the Jazz probably realized that they had a fan base amenable to tanking back when a significant chunk of fans advocating missing the playoffs so that we could draft Kendall Marshall.
