Where the **** did that come from?
I guess you haven't heard the Lakers landed the #2 pick. Lonzo Ball is a Point guard so Russell is probably getting shipped .

It'd be better than tanking all over again after we just got finished tanking. Lol.

I'm on board I just don't know if the Suns are interested in two guys that have been injury prone.
I don't think a tank to get a top 5 or whatever pick is possible if Rudy is on the team. He's that impactful.
And this insanity about trading him...I just don't get it at all. He's one of the best defensive big men to come around in ages. Those guys don't fall off trees.

Saint Cy of JFC what are the odds Washington doesn't match a max offer sheet for Porter?

This thread is all the more reason why it's so important for Utah to make a trade BEFORE the FA period starts.
Bring in the third leg to your title push and make it so Hayward has more wins and money to stay.
If we get to FA and have done nothing, we might be screwed.
If Hayward leaves, you are screwed. College kids aren't good enough to come in and carry a team right away. You'd probably be best served trading Gobert to Boston for picks (Fultz, next year Brooklyn pick, 2019 Memphis pick) and tank the **** out of the league ala Philly.
That would give you the #1 pick this year, two top 5 picks in 18 (Brooklyn and Utah), a late first rounder in 18 (OKC), hopefully a late lottery pick in 19 (Utah Jazz), and a top 10 pick in 19, 20 or 21 (Memphis).
It would be dumb to try to rebuild around Gobert the way you tried to build around Hayward. You'd be too good to get top talent in the draft and when you got good again he'd be a free agent and just leave.
Basically Hayward leaving would be devastating and set up back 5 years.
If there was ever a draft to tell all your players to go down with fake injuries, it would be the 2018 draft.
Michael Porter
Mo Bama
Luka Doncic
I'd murder someone for either Doncic or Porter next to Hayward/Gobert.
Agreed that the Jazz will be aggressive in trying to make a change before free agency and that is a good thing. I disagree that if Hayward leaves we start over. Big setback - obviously. But there is no GM in this league that wouldn't love Rudy as the key starting point for building a team. If you pressed me to choose between Rudy and Gordon, we already extended the person who is the most important.
This is exactly how I feel.I don't think Hayward will leave, but if he does, and the Jazz decide to rebuild, then I'm taking a break for a few years. Not up to watching a losing team for another half decade.
