Mitchell will romp to the ROY award...

That is because Simmons is a pass first point guard. He is not a chucker like Mitchell.
So you are only take scoring
into consideration? How About rebounding, assists and steals where Simmons is absolutely hammering Mitchell ?
Simmons was a good good rookie but he got passed up. For December he was the fourth best rookie. Behind Mitchell, Tatum and Kuzma.

4th place is still really good though and you should be proud of your guy. Maybe one day you can get him to sign your hat.

You missed this, probably because of timing, but...

"And if our guys could make the wide-open shots off Donovan's perfect passes he'd have a lot more assists. Hood, Burks, JJ, etc. have brought Don's AST numbers below where they should be."

And Simmons is a primadonna.

Simmons has a negative OBPM, not Mitchell. Simmons averages 20 turnovers per 100 plays compared to Mitchells 13, despite Mitchell having a much higher usage. Per 100 Mitchell is scoring 30 points to Simmons 22 and Mitchell is much more efficient on his shots with a better TS%. Simmons does get more assists but what else is he supposed to do with the ball. Simmons cant score unless he is at the rim. Besides Mitchell is much better at creating for himself. Simmons is assisted on 33% of his shots compared to 24% for Mitchell. Their steals are about the same per 100. As far as passing goes when Mitchell passes the ball he gets just as many assists. Simmons just passes the ball more because he cant create as well as Mitchell and cant score as much. They have the same Assist-to-Pass Percentage and Assist-to-Pass Percentage Adj.

Odd that no one has posted this as yet, but Donovan was named Western Conference Rookie of the Month. Tatum was named from the Eastern.

Got passed up in December,
but he was the best rookie in October and November and is still favoirite to win the ROY award.

If Mitchell is superior than Simmons then why as of Jan 3, 2018, the oddsmakers are still having Simmons as the favourite to win the ROY award? They must be crazy。

lol. ben simmons is hammering DM in steals? Simmons averages 1.9 steals per game. Mitchell averages 1.5 steals per game. And remember that Simmons averages 36 minutes per game and Mitchell averages 31 minutes per game.
Nice trolling.
Simmons averages more turnovers per game too (4 turnovers to mitchells 2.6)
Lol at simmons 3 point % for the year. Zero percent. he has made zero three pointers. Zero for 10. Lol at his free throw percentage too. 55%.

All his 3 points shots were half court heaves when time were running out. LOL.

His free throw % is lower but his field goal % is higher than Mitchell. Not to mention he averages more rebounds, assists, blocks and steals per 36 minutes than Mitchell.

The early all star returns were released yesterday. Tatum is there, Simmons is there, Kuzma is there, even Ball is there which is absolutely ridiculous. No Donovan.

I reiterate what I said before. All Star games and awards are popularity contests and our guys are just not at the cool kids table. I would LOVE to see Donovan earn ROTY and actually get it. But I just don't see him getting it. His only chance is to put up a season stat line that is so much better than Simmons or Tatum that it can't be ignored. And even then his chances are slim. Ben Simmons has worldwide appeal being from Australia. He entered the NBA with a huge amount of hype as the #1 pick. He has endorsements and plays in a big market. The media will vote for him if his numbers are even remotely close. They don't base their votes on basketball alone. If they did Rudy would be DPOY. But Rudy doesn't play for the popular Warriors so...

When was the last time a superior rookie was screwed by the press because they were from a small market? Five of the last 6 ROY were from below average sized media markets, so I don't see any evidence to support your hypothesis. Milwaukee, Minny (2), Portland, Cleveland.

Brogden had none of the hype or market appeal.

Minnesota's 2 were #1 picks, KAT and Wiggins
Cleveland was Kyrie, again a #1 pick
Brogdon was an outlier who only won because Embiid got hurt.

My argument isn't market size. It's popularity and marketability.

Not sure why you mentioned big markets if this is not important to your argument.

Since you are saying that Donovan will not be selected as ROY, because of marketability (etc), can you give examples of when this happened in the past?

Passed up means passed up. Sorry it's over. Mitchell has it wrapped up. 4th place is awesome though for Simmons.

LOL. Go and ask any bookmaker who is the favourite for ROY award right now.
I did they told me Mitchell. But they said the race for second place is still pretty tight and up for grabs between Kuzma and Tatum but this kid Simmons is a dark horse for second place.

Have you considered that how good he is now might be what he is ? Dude can't and won't shoot from outside 2 ft, what growth has he shown over the 3 months ?

And he's an immature stuck up **** from way back. Awesome player, but Donovan has no weaknesses.
