The Offseason Cha-cha-changes Thread

I'm done being nice. Somebody has to be honest about Rudy.

The dude is damn good, but I'm right: Soft. Mentally. Physically. Incapable of doing anything without help, but then has the audacity to repeatedly sell his teammates out in public.

And yall applaud him for it.

For the past two months you've bitched out people here for "attacking our players" and claimed moral superiority over them.

I find it hilarious that yall adore Rudy for saying he wants to stay here his whole career. Great. But what does that matter?

Would we have kept Favors if he said it?

Rubio?

Joe?

Anybody? The team comes first regardless of a player's wants and desires. Don is better for business and he's more important in the playoffs.

Tony Jones posted an article on the Athletic...
Zero new data or approaches in the article.
Any common Jazz fan knows everything he wrote
Pure semantics and some of it is just not true (for instance, Rudy's not at top value, the narrative on him is probably at its very worst for him)

I still don't think a player should be personally attacked. I'm not attacking Rudy the person. I'm attacking Rudy the player.

Yeah okay.

The media has been alluding to a fractured lockerroom for a while, and all the assumption and the blame has fallen on Donovan. What if the real issue is Rudy Gobert? When are yall going to realize that the biggest diva on the team is probably Rudy?

I'm willing to bet Rudy complains all the time behind closed doors. Hell, he complained to the media about touches during the 20-21 season while we were doing well. He publically complains all the time which irritates his coaching staff and teammates.

So many of you have built up in your mind that Rudy is some guy who tries the hardest, says all the right things and is never to blame for our shortcomings. What if he is the massive diva disrupting the lockerroom?

I bet he complained about shot attempts in Game 1 even though we won the game. Pathetic

It worries me a little bit Jazz brass see Mitchell as their PG.
He's a scorer, a brutal scorer, just use him as that.
I still believe it has been a terrible mistake to try to make him a floor general, and I still believe it has been not good for him.

I asked the question.

But sure, I'll speculate that Rudy is as big or bigger of a diva than Don behind closed doors. He is in public so why wouldn't he be one in private?

You can speculate however you want, just don't go chastising others for "personally attacking our players" while you're at it.

Jazz Need to BUILD around Gobert and target International players and players with Mormon Backgrounds cuz SLc is not worst NBA city to a Mormon and International Players are just happy to be playing in NBA and shows loyalty to teams who draft them.

Gianni,Jokic, Embiid, Pascal the list goes on and on but they are loyal and don't care about I have to team up with my friend. I would get the French International team here in Utah and they could be legit contenders.

Trade Rudy because he can't take over an NBA playoff game, he's almost 30 and he's soon making over $40 a year.

Regardless of your adoration for Rudy or hate of Don, Rudy aint worth $40 million.

Kleber, Powell and Bertans all combine to make less than Rudy next year.

Tony Jones posted an article on the Athletic, and the big takeaways are:

(1) no plans to trade Donovan;
(2) Quin situation should be resolved soon;
(3) Jazz want to stay competitive;
(4) We want to buy into the second round of the draft (yay?)

Get ready for the offseason of half measures!
What you want the whole roster to change over? Then next year you will complain about Chemistry. Saying Half measures is Slap to face of a Great organization . I don't get how fans have such unrealistic expectations, they don't seem to grasp how hard it is to win in NBA. Look at Bucks they struggled for a few years but kept on course and made a move here and there and thing was it was the right move and look what they got, A Chip, and they contender's this year too after years of playoff failures

9 years is such a long time to not learn a single offensive move Rudy.
It's such a long time that you can say, as safe as it's possible, that it just won't happen.
I believe that's what separated this roster from contention.
Something tells me Jazz brass had expectations that somehow it would happen, and that these expectations were key to decide to go with this core for a long time.

When Rudy loses a step, he's going to be the worst contract in the NBA. It's going to be bad.
